Once again the weekend disappeared and we're faced with another Monday morning. It's not all bad of course, the weather is set to be bright and sunny, and not too humid. I've also noticed that a parcel from Stampin' Up! has made good progress and will be delivered to me a day early. That means I have a stack of chores to get done this morning if I want the whole afternoon to play. So here's a quick card with a California poppy so you can have a bright start your your Monday too. Peaceful Morning, Just No Power
Well, that was a fun 12 hours or so! The thunderstorms that were forecast for yesterday afternoon never materialised, which was nice. However around 2pm last night we lost power as a result of high winds courtesy of post-tropical storm Elsa. It was still off when we got up this morning so I spent few peaceful hours designing new projects in my craft studio. Well I had to so something while we waited for the power to be restored. Fabulous Daisies But Only On Paper
It will be spring soon, but right now Old Man Winter is making his presence known with a bitter wind and sub-zero temperatures. I'm done with the cold now and could really do with some nice warmer spring weather. I can't wait for the garden to spring back to life and am eagerly awaiting the signs of new growth. After the green of new grass, come the dandelions. I don't mind them as they're a first food source for the bees. My favourite 'weed' has to be daisies though, they're simple but ... VIEW POST
Snowflake Wishes For A Winter Frame
Today's project was another one that kind of just 'happened'. I sat down knowing I didn't want to make a card, but wasn't sure what to make instead. In the end it was a sentiment in the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set that inspired me. SNOWFLAKE BACKGROUND With the sentiment in my head I began by looking for a background for my project. It made total sense to start with the Snowflake Splendor 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There are so many lovely designs but in the end I ... VIEW POST
Finding Interesting Dies To Layer
When looking at dies that coordinate with a stamp set there's always the temptation to concentrate on the stamp set. If the images in the stamp set don't appeal then the dies often don't get a second look. But I've learned that this strategy could mean I miss something. For example this morning while creating my gift tag project I discovered the Painted Labels Dies make interesting layers. PAINTED LABELS DIES Today I decided to try something a little different for my tag base. First ... VIEW POST
I Love A Can Do Attitude
Last week I decorated a notebook with a pretty poinsettia patterned paper. As I finished the project I realised that my hubby could do with a notebook to keep track of all those little jobs that need doing around the house. So now he's had his vacation time approved I decided it was time to make that notebook. In fact I opted for a notepad with plain pages. That way he can include his little sketches and measurements for each job. Anything I can do to make his tasks easier is a bonus ... VIEW POST
