When a product is retired by Stampin' Up! I stop using it on my blog projects. This is because I'd hate you to fall in love with something you can no longer buy. Many of these products are then sold off to make room for new things. But there are always exceptions for products that will definitely stay for my own private use. The Encircled In Beauty Dies fall into that latter category. I love being able to create doilies in any colour I want, and in multiple sizes too. ENCIRCLED IN ... VIEW POST
Pansy Petals And Pretty Gingham
With only another five days to go before we see the retiring list I’m continuing to rediscover products I haven’t used in a while. Today I pulled out the Pansy Petals suite but didn’t quite manage to use it all. You see when I opened up the Pansy Dies, out fell a bag of pieces cut from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP). But they hadn’t been fussy cut, I’d actually used the dies to do that. So from there today’s pretty sticky note pad came together really quickly. PANSY PETALS ... VIEW POST
Pretty Pieces Of Pansy Petals
Well it's official. Hubby went out yesterday to start chipping away at the layer of ice on the driveway and measured it at 5-1/4" up in front of the garage. Unfortunately we're not going to see much of a thaw and it could take weeks to shift completely. Meanwhile I've decided that it's not too early for spring in the craft room. So for this morning's simple Sunday project I pulled out my scraps of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP). With a little fussy cutting and the Pansy Patch ... VIEW POST
Merci Chocolates For A Quick Treat
Sometimes its nice to say thank you with a treat. As a papercrafter I think it's even nicer to say thank you with a treat that's in a pretty package. So when I found a box of Merci chocolate (the stick kind) I couldn't resist. After a bit of trial and error I came up with this quick and easy idea using just a quarter sheet of cardstock. MERCI PACKAGE BASICS I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 2-3/4" x 8-3/8" piece of Soft Succulent Card. Then with the short side at the top I ... VIEW POST
Autumn Colours And A Squirrel
No change here. It's hot and muggy and typically I'm thinking about cooler weather. Fall isn't far away and a change of decor will be needed in my dining room. So out go the bright flowers and in come the more muted neutral tones of autumn. That means I need to create napkin rings using the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it... NAPKIN RING I began by making the ring part of my napkin ring. First I cut a 2" x 5" piece of Pale Papaya Card, rolled ... VIEW POST
Hats Off To Enhanced Faux Stitching
I don't know what it is about Nova Scotia but it seems just about everyone (guys at least) wear hats. I friend showed me her husband's collection the other day and the closet reminded me of others I'd seen. So I suppose it was only fitting that I get the new Hats Off Stamp Set and Hat Builder Dies from Stampin' Up!. They've got lots amazing details but I thought I could step it up a notch with some enhanced faux stitching. HATS OFF TO THE DESIGNERS I began by choosing the small floral ... VIEW POST
