Back at the beginning of March I made a transatlantic dash to be with my daughter who'd given birth to twins at 34-1/2 weeks by emergency c-section. Thankfully due to swift action by the medical staff at Wexham Park Hospital Mum and babies made it through without any complications. Since then I've been in the UK spending valuable time with the twins, their amazing big sister Alyssa, my daughter and son in law. Now after jumping through a great many hoops I've finally made it home ... VIEW POST
Summer Skies With Beauty Of The Earth
While I don't mind creating my own sky effect I certainly don't mind cheating now and again. The background for today's bookmark project is one example of that. You might be surprised to find that among all the trees and leaves in the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack is this amazing pattern. It's a watercolour wash effect that makes adding a summer sky an absolute breeze. BEAUTY OF THE EARTH This project really did begin with the sky background from the Beauty of ... VIEW POST
Peekaboo Llama For Any Occasion
OK I admit it. I may be slightly obsessed with the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set. But can you blame me when those animals are so cute? Today I wanted to use the llama image and see how it would work with a paper piecing technique. Suffice to say, it works well and adds a whole new dimension to the wall. PEEKABOO FARM AGAIN Why the llama? Well simply because it's one of the animal images in the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set that I haven't yet used. Seemed a good enough reason at the time. ... VIEW POST
The Hand-Penned Suite Has It All
Have you seen the 2021-2023 In Colors from Stampin' Up!? This is a collection of five new colours added to the Stampin' Up! range for a limited time (2 years). I have to say that this year's new colours have really inspired me, almost to the point of obsession. Right now my absolute favourite of the five has to be Pale Papaya. It's a soft apricot that just seems to go well with everything. Today my hit of Pale Papaya comes in the form of a pretty polka dot pattern from the Hand-Penned ... VIEW POST
Penned Flowers Dies For Paper Piecing Fun
I often talk of getting the best bang for your buck when it comes to crafting products. For me that means things that have a variety of uses and/or coordinate with something I already have. Over the past couple of weeks I've shown you some new coordinating stamp sets, dies and paper, and today it's the turn of the Penned Flowers Dies. TILED BACKGROUND Before getting to the Penned Flowers Dies though, I first needed to create the card base and simple layers. Using my Paper Trimmer ... VIEW POST
Snail Dies But Without The Snail
As you might expect the Snailed It Stamp Set contains a number of snail images and the Snail Dies coordinate with them. But there's also some other dies in the set that I love by themselves. One of them is the large postage stamp die and that features prominently on today's project. Avoiding the snail images entirely, I also chose the toadstools to brighten up this very simple birthday card layout. PAPER TOLE TOADSTOOLS I began this project with the toadstool image and a Tuxedo Black ... VIEW POST
