Whenever I get a new stamp set I love to create a whole bunch of projects. Some are simpler than others, and some combine the new stamps with other older (but still available) products in my craft studio. So this is how I ended up with this sweet and simple bookmark, using a favourite embossing folder for extra interest. FIRST CULTIVATE YOUR POPPIES I began my bookmark with a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of Thick Whisper White Card. First I shaped the top of the strip and added the ribbon slot ... VIEW POST
Experimenting With Vellum Flowers
Today's blog project is more of a 'show and tell' than an instruction manual. Yesterday I received the new dies Poppy Moments Dies and immediately wanted to create something with them. I've already seen lots of lovely projects and decided to try something a little different. So instead of using coloured card I chose coloured vellum for my flowers. PERENNIAL ESSENCE VELLUM I love the Perennial Essence 12" x 12" Vellum Cardstock. You get 4 sheets of So Saffron, Petal Pink and Old Olive ... VIEW POST
Going Back To Picking Poppies
Sometimes life gets hectic and I find myself needing to make a card in a hurry. That's what happened today but with some pretty poppies as my starting point this project came together really quickly. PRETTY POPPIES PAPER There's something about the colours in this pretty poppies paper that just keeps drawing me in. It's one of 12 double-sided designs in the Peaceful Poppies 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Today I started by cutting a 6" x 6" square. Then I cut a ... VIEW POST
Bright And Cheery Birthday
After my flowery thank you card a couple of days ago I thought it was time for a simpler card. So today's project pairs new Designer Series Papers (DSP) with an older but still available stamp set. It might be snowing again outside inside it's bright and cheerful. BRIGHT PATTERN My project began with the argyle / harlequin design from the Country Club 12" x 12" DSP pack. Looking at the colours in the design I decided to use Mint Macaron as my coordinating colour. So I began by ... VIEW POST
Using Up Some Poppy Pieces
At the beginning of the year I created a welcome plaque as my Painted Poppies sneak peek project. I loved the results and I know many of you did too. As so often happens I didn't actually use all the poppy images I painted and as a result I left the unused ones in the stamp case. Then when I opened the stamp set yesterday to create another poppy project I rediscovered the images and as a happy consequence I ended up with this card. POPPY PAPER? With my main images already completed I ... VIEW POST
Pretty Poppies With A Familiar Story
Yes it's time for another winter storm, followed by a day to clean up before the next one hits. Did I tell you I'm ready for winter to be over? It's no wonder I was inspired to create this bookmark with pretty poppies and "new beginnings" sentiment. COLOURED POPPIES I began with a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Thick Whisper White Card shaped at the top using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Then using some Stampin' Sponge I added a light coating of Seaside Spray ink. Towards the bottom of ... VIEW POST
