Although I’ve recovered from the cold symptoms I experienced with my recent COVID infection, I still have some lingering side-effects. Most annoying for me is a foggy brain. It’s improving, however not quickly enough for me. So crafting is my release and I’m enjoying revisiting products and techniques I haven’t used in a while. Today’s project was an experiment using an alcohol ink technique on clear window sheet. I liked the results so much I turned it into a bookmark using the retiring Fancy ... VIEW POST
Prized Peony For A Thinking Of You Card
Today's project is another one that came about because I have been reorganising my craft studio. Once again I came across a stamp set I haven't used in ages, this time it was Prized Peony. The large floral images and beautifully scripted sentiments work well with simple cards, but today I went with something a little more involved. PEONY IMAGE My project began when I stamped the peony and bud image onto Thick Basic White Card using Smoky Slate ink. Choosing this rather than black ... VIEW POST
DSP Retiring While The Stamps And Dies Are Not
One of the things I like to remind my customers about is that almost all Designer Series Paper (DSP) retires at the end of the catalogue period in which they appear. This year, of all the DSP in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalogue only the In Good Taste 12" x 12" DSP is being carried over. For the most part I look forward to seeing new paper designs but there's one particular issue I want to highlight. This is that when a particular paper pack that's retiring coordinates with a stamp set, dies or ... VIEW POST
Peony Painting For A Dear Friend
It occurred to me too late yesterday that my last three projects were all in shades of blue. So when I sat down to make today's project all I had in my mind was something that wasn't blue. It was only as I looked at the open flower in the Prized Peony Stamp Set that I settled on Magenta Madness. And from there the card almost made itself. PINK PEONY The project began with the open peony image stamped onto Thick Whisper White Card using Magenta Madness ink. Then I stamped the two ... VIEW POST
Notebook collection grows again
My regular readers will know that I love a pretty notebook. Well I love any notebook really and have a lot of fun decorating them. Yesterday as I was playing in my studio with nothing specific in mind a notebook caught my eye. In fact it was a stack of notebooks, because why buy one when you can buy six, right? All I needed was some paper, some odd bits of card and a sentiment... PAPER AND CARD First came the poinsettia covered paper from the Flowers For Every Season 6" x 6" Designer ... VIEW POST
Peony Practice Pays Off
OK I admit it, I'm a sucker for flower images and dies. I don't buy every one that Stampin' Up! brings out, but I do buy quite a few. When I first saw the 2020/21 Annual Catalogue I was immediately captivated by the Peony Garden Suite. There's pretty paper, gorgeous floral images and sentiments in the stamp set, and coordinating dies. So I got it all. It was only when I opened up the Peony Dies that I realised I had no idea how to put the 3D flower together. It didn't take long to work ... VIEW POST
