Today is going to be one of those days where I'm rushing around trying to get things done before a winter storm hits. We have possibly 12" (30cm) of snow due in the next 18 hours or so, coupled with high winds. So we need to prepare in case the power goes out. Luckily my projects for the next couple of days are all made and I just have to write my blog posts. First though here's a birthday card created using the new Handsomely Suited Stamp Set. It's part of a masculine suite of products but ... VIEW POST
Miles Apart But Close At Heart
When I think of the phrase "miles apart but close at heart" like most people I think it refers to significant distances. In fact probably hundreds if not thousands of miles. But with all the COVID restrictions those miles (or kilometres) could be much less. Everyone is coping with the stress and worry in their own way and with vaccines now being approved for use hopefully we'll start to see the beginning of the end. Until then, why not bridge those miles with a handwritten ... VIEW POST
One For All The Garage Workers
I often hear papercrafters say that they find making masculine cards a challenge. Flowery stamp sets work well for ladies and there's no shortage of them, but for the guys the choices tend to be a bit more limited. That's why I was so excited to see the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and Garage Gears Dies. These were released last spring and were carried over into the Annual Catalogue, but sadly the coordinating paper wasn't. That didn't stop me making this masculine card as part of my World ... Counting Moments and Making Moments Count
Although I planned to have this blog post done before I started my personal World Cardmaking Day challenge it didn't happen. So after spending the past 10 hours or so designing and making the first 12 cards I'm taking a little break. It's just after midnight and a good time to spend a few moments putting the finishing touches to my blog. SIMPLE BOX WRAP For this week's simple Sunday project I decided to do an easy box wrap. I began by making up a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box. This is ... VIEW POST
Colouring A Distinktive Peony
Yesterday's pretty photo album project involved quite a lot of colouring so today I wanted to scale it right back. Not everyone understands or wants to stress over shading, and that includes me from time to time. That's when Stampin' Up!'s Distinktive® stamp images are useful. You see, Distinktive stamps are made with the shading built into the stamp image. All I had to do was colour over the top to get a great image for my card. SIMPLE START I really wanted to keep this project simple ... VIEW POST
Always Something New To Try
If there's something I've learned in my crafting journey it's that there's always something new to try. Take this morning for instance, I'd planned a simple background using some patterned paper edged with a little foil sheet. I cut a strip 1/8" wide as I always do, and then an idea popped into my head... What if I cut a slightly wider strip and embossed it? And the rest, as they say, is history. PAPER FIRST I actually started this project by choosing the very subtle Petal Pink ... VIEW POST
