While hubby and I live in Canada, our daughter and her family live in the UK. It's never really been an issue as we've always been able to visit when we wanted, but COVID has brought challenges. So we're thankful for technology that allows us to chat via messaging or video chats. Photos are another way to keep in touch and when printed off and put into an album, they make very personal gifts. Keeping family close at heart was the inspiration for today's quick project. Silhouette Scenes For Simple Stamping
I'm a sucker for a silhouette. I adore the simplicity of these images while somehow still showing so much detail. I also love it when I can 'cheat' with a background scene. So this project, created at the beginning of the month for World Cardmaking Day, was a match made in heaven. SILHOUETTE COUPLE I began my project with this image of a couple in the rain from the Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set. The key to a good silhouette is making the image really dark, it doesn't have to be black, ... VIEW POST
Senior Years Full Of Fun Today
After making a lot of cards over the weekend it was nice to do something else today. Making 24 cards using lots of different products and techniques reminded me of some of my favourites. Some things I've not used in a while and some I still didn't have a chance to use. So today to put that right I pulled out the Senior Years Stamp Set. The images and sentiments are such fun and a joy to colour. STAMPARATUS I began today's project with my basic bookmark base. This is a 2" x 5-1/2" ... VIEW POST
Easy Sunset With Sponge Brayers
I love colouring but I find I'm often reaching for the same colouring tools, most recently Stampin' Blends. So with a very busy day ahead of me I decided to grab my Sponge Brayers for a quick bookmark project. Once I'd selected a sentiment and image from the Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set I was all set. INK AND BRAYERS I began my project with a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Once I'd shaped the top with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch I was ready to start work with my ... VIEW POST
Throwback Thursday & The Retiring List
Yesterday Stampin' Up! revealed the list of products that will be retiring on June 2nd. Actually there are two lists, one for the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue and Beginners Brochure, and a separate list for the January to June Mini Catalogue. I always receive these lists with mixed feelings. I'm sad to see lovely products go, but at the same time I'm excited for all the new products I know will be taking their place. Over the coming weeks I plan to revisit some older projects created ... VIEW POST
