After my flowery thank you card a couple of days ago I thought it was time for a simpler card. So today's project pairs new Designer Series Papers (DSP) with an older but still available stamp set. It might be snowing again outside inside it's bright and cheerful. BRIGHT PATTERN My project began with the argyle / harlequin design from the Country Club 12" x 12" DSP pack. Looking at the colours in the design I decided to use Mint Macaron as my coordinating colour. So I began by ... VIEW POST
Punch Happy Morning
I've no idea where this morning went. I've been up since before 6 but somehow the day has taken on a life of its own. My project today is a basic gift card holder with simple Balloon Bouquet Punch embellishments. BASIC GIFT CARD HOLDER With the retirement of the Envelope Punch Board last May, this is my new gift card holder shape. It's a simple pouch made from a 3" x 7" piece of card or Designer Series Paper (DSP). In fact, if you have a pretty notecard you can even make one using ... VIEW POST
Perennial Birthday #SimpleStamping
It's Sunday again and we had a lot of snow overnight. Still, the sky has cleared and it's a gorgeous sunny morning here in Nova Scotia. The brief for February is simple - use stamps, ink and paper with the bonus ... VIEW POST
Cracked Ice Background Effect
I'm in a hurry to get this blog post finished as we're under a winter storm warning and the snow's picking up. All the schools in the area are closed so they're only expecting it to get worse. Although it's only a week away, I was reminded that Christmas is not the only celebration at this time of year. People get married, have babies, and birthdays too. So I thought I'd create a birthday card today with what I can only describe as a cracked ice background. CRACKED ICE BACKGROUND ... VIEW POST
Dynamic Embossing On DSP
So this morning I had an idea. I experimented a few days ago with a double-inking technique on the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder® and was really pleased with the results. Today I had an idea to try using a different Dynamic embossing folder on DSP to see how that worked. So I pulled out one I haven't used in ages, Basket Weave, and accidentally made a masculine birthday card. Not that I'm complaining! BASKET WEAVE DYNAMIC EMBOSSING FOLDER The point about the ...
