Today's project was a total surprise. I sat down to create a card of some kind with no real plan. I found one of my older (but still available) stamp sets, pulled out the coordinating dies and set to work. I really like the "Go where dreams take you" sentiment, and before I knew it I'd created this card complete with a spring wreath. Sometimes going with the flow brings lovely results. THE WREATH This project all started with the Lovely Leaves Dies. I chose the small fern die and ... VIEW POST
Weathering The Storms Of Life
I went to bed last night with no idea what I was going to make for today's blog. By the time I awoke I had an idea for an inspirational fridge magnet. So out came the Sailing Home Stamp Set and the "Let hope be your anchor through the storms of life" sentiment. In no time at all my idea had taken shape. STORMY SEAS On the side of my fridge I have a collection of magnets. These ones are all 'advertising' from local businesses and organisations, and quite useful at times. I did ... VIEW POST
Spring Wreath Decor (Papercraft Style)
A few weeks back I was playing with punches and created some 3D daffodils. Then I used one of them on card for St. David's Day. Today I have another daffodil / narcissus project but on a much bigger scale, a spring wreath. ROPE WREATH I found this rope circle in my local Dollarama. It measures 11" across and has what feels like a solid metal core. It certainly is very sturdy and I decided it would make an ideal base for my spring wreath. I began by cutting out the individual ... VIEW POST
Marking St David’s Day With A Finished Card
Exactly one week ago I was experimenting with daffodils. Well experimenting with how to make 3D daffodils from card. The jury's still out one which version of the two was more popular, but as today is St David's Day I just could resist using one to make this card. SPRING COLOURS I wanted to have a spring-like feel to my St. David's Day project so chose Pear Pizzazz Card for the base. First I cut and scored it using my Paper Trimmer. Then I folded the card along the scored line and ... VIEW POST
An Unfinished Tale Of Two Daffodils
Today's simple Sunday project involves some experimentation and two different daffodils. I haven't yet decided what to do with these, but I thought I'd show you anyway. DAFFODILS HAVE 6 PETALS While I don't have a 'daffodil' punch, what I do have is the Perennial Flower Punch which has 3 petals. Knowing that all daffodils have 6 petals all I needed to start was two shapes punched from Daffodil Delight Card. Using a light Mango Melody Stampin' Blends alcohol marker I then drew 3 ... VIEW POST
Don’t Forget The Annual Catalogue
Today's project is a gift for a friend. I started out with plain card but quickly abandoned that idea in favour of the Perennial Essence 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Before too long I had a really pretty gift card holder, and most of what I used was from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. It reminded me that with the focus on the new Holiday Catalogue it's easy to forget about all the other great products available. Do you do that too? PRETTY PERENNIAL ESSENCE I ... VIEW POST
