Hurricane Lee has begun to impact Nova Scotia, although it’s now been downgraded to a ‘post-tropical storm’. We’re still going to get strong winds, heavy rain and tidal surge, but over a much wider area. By 8.20 am over 90,000 properties were without power, and the situation will get worse before it gets better. So I need to get my post typed quickly, just in case. When I sat down to design this notecard project I couldn’t help but reach for the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set and Dies. CUTE ... VIEW POST
Playing with Animals Again
After yesterday’s #simplestamping project featuring the llama from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set I was inspired to make a project featuring another animal. This time I reached for the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set and the coordinating dies. I decided to create my own ‘scene’ including texture from the Crosshatch embossing folder (part of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders pack). Then there’s some simple layers using torn and inked card. By the time I was done I had this sweet thank you card with a ... VIEW POST
Irresistible Idea
Have you ever just looked at a piece of patterned paper and had an idea pop into your head? That’s what happened yesterday as I was looking through the Hello, Irresistible 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I love the combination of colours used in this pack, especially since Pretty Peacock is one of them. In fact I was torn between two designs on the same sheet. On one side was an elegant plaid pattern, while on the other, a moody watercolour wash. Moody won in the end. IRRESISTIBLE ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop: In Color Me Happy
It’s the first Wednesday of the month and time for another IDEAS blog hop. This month our theme is “Colour Me Happy". It’s no secret that I love the 2023-2025 In Colors and so I decided to create all my projects using three of the five; Boho Blue, Copper Clay and Wild Wheat. For the IDEAS Tutorial bundle I designed two cards and a gift card holder using a simple watermark technique. But not before I painted with In Color inks and did a little embossing to create an eye-catching notebook ... VIEW POST
Gilded Touches
Have you seen the Gilded Leafing in the Stampin’ Up! 2022/2023 Annual Catalogue? It’s a product that’s easy to overlook, especially if you have no idea how it’s used. Even I’ve wondered why I needed it when I can simply heat emboss on my projects instead. I’ve added it to a few projects in the past but today I found the perfect use for my Gilded Leafing, adding a touch of luxury to a clear cellophane bag. Gilded Leafing has a purpose when the materials you’re using can’t be heated! GILDED ... VIEW POST
Count On Me Again
It’s now only 9 days until Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators get their first look at the new 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue. Although they haven’t told us that the Retiring List will also be revealed on that day, we’ll be able to work out for ourselves which items are being discontinued. One of the safest bets for retiring products is Designer Series Paper (DSP) like the Rain or Shine Specialty Paper used on today’s card. DSP very rarely gets carried over so don’t count on any of it being available for ... VIEW POST
