Merry Christmas to all my friends, family, customers, and everyone else who has taken time out of their day to support me and my business this past year. xx For information about about how to create the holly decoration and sentiment used on this card see my earlier blog post More holly table decor using Poinsettia Dies. ... Pine Cone Paper Used At Last
I've been looking through the Stampin' Up! inventory and was pleased to see a lot of retiring products are still available. So that meant I could pull out the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper (DSP) for today's card project. As I sorted through the various scraps of paper I had left I realised that one design in particular needed no cutting. It seems that at some point I'd planned to use the pine cone pattern for a card but never did. Today would be the day the pine cone paper finally ... VIEW POST
Texture Makes A Tag Extra Special
With a little over two weeks until Christmas it's time to get wrapping. Of course that means more gift tags. When I first started papercrafting I tended to concentrate on cards, probably just like most people. But then I discovered the pleasure of designing and making gift tags. Today's tag is quite simple in its design, but the added texture really makes it special. The Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder, patterned paper and ribbon are all retiring, so only available while stocks ... VIEW POST
More Holly Table Decor Using Poinsettia Dies

EAT THE TOMATO PASTE! Before you start thinking I'm combining tomato paste and card, let me explain. I've discovered that the tomato paste cans are the perfect size for napkin rings. The ones I ... Layering A Sentiment In Reverse
When I first began cardmaking I really didn't understand layers. Why would someone use more product than they needed to create a card? It took a while for me to realise that sometimes adding layers makes the card more interesting. That doesn't mean that simple one-layer cards can't be beautiful, but it's nice to have other options. Normally when I think of layers I think in terms of 'adding', for example layering DSP onto a slightly larger card mat. Or adding a sentiment onto a background ... VIEW POST
Decorating A Candle For The Holidays
One of the fun things about this time of year is the abundance of 'holidays'. While I don't really do Halloween, I love to decorate for autumn, Christmas and then winter. Often that includes a candle centrepiece and I've been experimenting with different ideas. Here's one featuring velveteen holly leaves. CANDLE COLLAR Today's project began with a plain white pillar candle roughly 2-3/4" across and about 2-1/4" to where the top starts to taper in. First I needed to wrap the candle ... VIEW POST
