One of the things I always like to point out at this time of year is that Christmas isn’t a happy time for everyone. We have a friend who lost their daughter on Christmas Day and for them Christmas will always bring with it sad memories. However I feel it’s still really important to send a card to let them know we are thinking of them. Today’s project with a “You are in my prayers” sentiment and cross image from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set could be one option. If this card seems ... VIEW POST
Another Hope & Prayer
Although I managed to get yesterday’s blog post published it wasn’t without some difficulty. I’d hoped this was a temporary glitch but as the day wore on there was no improvement. So I made a call to my internet provider who did a few tests and adjustments, all to no avail. Finally they decided to replace the modem, again, and hope that sorts out the problem. Thankfully that should arrive tomorrow and normal service can be resumed. Meanwhile I think I should retreat to my studio and play a ... VIEW POST
Hope In All Things
Do you have a familiar routine when you get new craft toys? I didn’t think I did but perhaps I’m wrong. You see yesterday I received delivery from Stampin’ Up! and among my customers’ orders was a little treat for me, the new Hope & Prayer Stamp Set. After checking the order, I was free to play, and of course I automatically reached for my new set. Without even thinking I picked up some card I’d already cut to 2” x 5-1/2” and in minutes my stamp set was christened. My first project with ... VIEW POST
Easter Basket With Natural Textures
Happy Easter everyone, and thank you for choosing to spend a few minutes with me today. As a crafter I often find myself drawn to things made by other people, and not just with card and paper. As well as the finished product, I also enjoy watching the making process. Sometimes a design will resonate with me and I decide to try my hand at something similar without actually following specific instructions. That’s how I ended up making today’s Easter basket and using the retiring Host stamp set, ... VIEW POST
Daffodil Daydream Is On The Way
Did you see yesterday's five star kick off to my January to June Mini Catalogue sneak peeks? Today's project is a simple card using another new stamp set. Daffodil Daydream is simply gorgeous and perfect for spring crafting. There are two main daffodil images, a butterfly, a decorative border, and a fine splatter image. The "Easter blessings" and "Happy Mother's Day" sentiments are quite specific and not everyone will need, these but that's just two stamps out of the set. Oh, and did I ... VIEW POST
Angels Of Peace Simply Designed
There's something about the Angels of Peace Stamp Set that keeps me going back for more. The two angels are simple line drawings that work well coloured or just left as they are. Plus the sentiments are so pretty, and some of them can be used outside of the Christmas season too. So far I've found that creating projects using the Angels of Peace Stamp Set has been a quick process. This was a an important consideration during my recent World Card Making Day "24 cards in 24 hours" challenge. ... VIEW POST
