I've been sorting through a box of completed projects and came across some that I haven't shown you yet. Several of them were from my personal World Card Making Day challenge last October. Each one is quite different in its look and feel, and my plan is to bring them to you over the next couple of weeks. With the retiring list coming out in three weeks I want to be sure that anything I show you will still be available to buy. So today I'm starting off with this masculine card using the Rustic ... Window Sheet For A Giftcard Holder
Sometimes I find a really pretty giftcard and it seems a shame to hide it away. So for today's project I decided to let the giftcard be the centre of attention. With the help of some Window Sheet, it really can become the focal point of a card. WINDOW AND FRAME I started this project with a basic Whisper White Note Card & Envelope. My plan was simple, cut a window in the front of the card to allow the giftcard to show through. After folding the note card along the pre-scored ... VIEW POST
Starting The Day With Some Early Espresso
Brrr it's chilly out but my car now has a lovely new set of winter tyres. Now all I need to do is put the snow brush and shovel in the trunk and I'll be set for driving in the colder weather. Right now though I'm happy to stay indoors with a couple of toasted buttered crumpets and a warm cup of coffee. I suppose that's what led me to the colour scheme for today's project, Early Espresso with a touch of Very Vanilla. EARLY ESPRESSO STAMPING I began by creating the focal point for my ... VIEW POST
Taking Up A Masculine Card Challenge
After yesterday's very small, colourful project I have something quite different for you. I received an e-mail from The Paper Players announcing their latest design challenge and I knew I'd have to take part. The theme this week is masculine birthdays and who couldn't use more masculine birthday card ideas? So with a brand new pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) I sat down and set to work. By the time I'd finished I'd created a very dramatic card indeed. NEW MASCULINE DSP I bought ... VIEW POST
Rustic Charm Of My Country Setting
Although I spent most of my life in the UK living in a very large town I'm a country girl at heart. When we moved to Nova Scotia I really wanted to live in a rural area. We were fortunate to find a home with a view of the bay to the front, open fields to the side and woods at the back. The property had all the rustic charm I was looking for and I have not been disappointed. Every day there's something new to see, from insects to birds to larger critters, and as I stand and watch them I know ... VIEW POST
I Don’t Appreciate Inky Fingers
I'm not one of those crafters who can work in a mess. Everything in my craft studio has a place and I always return them there after I've finished each project. That way when I'm working on the next one I have no trouble finding what I need. When packing away I usually check the outside of my ink pads for stray ink but it appears I missed something. That's the only explanation I have for the inky smudges that appeared on a recent finished project. After expressing my frustration, rather ... VIEW POST
