My regular blog readers will know that I can sometimes have a quirky sense of humour. I’ve also been known to ‘see’ things in my Stampin’ Up! supplies that others may miss. So I simply couldn’t help myself when I saw the snowmen in the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. With a little help from the Half Full Stamp Set and my Paper Snips I soon had one of my favourite Christmas card designs so far this year. PREPARING THE SCENE I began with a piece of Night of ... Merry Christmas Pop-Up Card
Yesterday I had a fun couple of hours in my craft studio with a very special guest, my granddaughter Alyssa. She'll be 8 next month and it was such fun to watch her design and create her own pop-up Christmas card. Let me say from the outset that this card was all her idea. She's been playing with the "pop-up" process at home and wanted to show me how to do it. All I did was show her how to put the pop-up layer inside another card to hide the mechanism. Then, apart from some very minor ... VIEW POST
Elves On Parade
Sometimes I spend a lot of time on my projects and there may be fancy techniques or special tools needed. Sometimes though I just need to make a card as quickly as possible. Despite a whole slew of elves bringing in the presents, this simple Sunday project was really fast to make. BRING ON THE ELVES I began by cutting and scoring a piece of Poppy Parade Card using my Stampin' Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card ... VIEW POST
Official Seal Of The North Pole
Even though making 24 different cards in 24 hours was a challenge last weekend, I still found time to experiment. Today's Z-fold card was the second of the 24 and I love the faux wax seal I created for it. THE BASIC CARD AND ENVELOPE I created the basic Z-fold card base using Thick Very Vanilla Card and my Stampin' Trimmer. To start I cut the card to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". Then with the long side at the top I scored the card at 4-1/4". Next I flipped the card over so that the other long side ... VIEW POST
Santa’s To Do List
OK I know it's still August (although not for long), but I couldn't resist today's sneak peek project. Anyone who knows me knows I love notebooks and making lists. I've discovered that writing down things and ticking them off when they're done is so satisfying. This is never more true than in the run up to Christmas when I get really busy with craft fairs. So when I saw one particular image in the new Signs of Santa Stamp Set, one project immediately came to mind. I simply had to have ... VIEW POST
Santa’s Workshop opening soon
Yesterday I showed you a little sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue that goes live for customers on September 5th. Today I want to continue my sneak peeks with a quick look at the main products in the Santa's Workshop Suite. I've created two videos for you, one looks at the Signs of Santa Stamp Set, the Santa's Signpost Framelits Dies, Santa's Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), and the Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes. But first here's a look at the Santa's ... VIEW POST
