Despite the fact that I design and make projects every day I still sometimes suffer from creative block. If I'm working to a deadline that can be particularly stressful so I try to get my projects done ahead of time. When my creative mojo deserts me my goto solution is to simply walk away. This is what I did with today's tag project. I'd made the tag and got the streamers. I had the die-cut "happy birthday" in Very Vanilla and Basic Black ready, but from there I was stumped. So I put the ... VIEW POST
Hand-Penned Petals Called To Me Again
Since I've not had access to my craft room for a while I've been a bit limited in what I have available for my designs. It's a valid excuse, but I'll admit it's not the whole truth. You see I have a feeling that I'd probably keep going back to the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set regardless. I've simply fallen in love with the images and just keep getting more and more ideas. So I hope you'll allow me to indulge myself once again with this pretty thank you card. COLOURS FIRST While I ... VIEW POST
Thanks Well Written On A Tag
Isn't it funny how you can get really excited about a set of dies but then don't make the most of them. This has happened many times and I'm determined to revisit each and every set. Yesterday while I was making a batch of gift tags I was trying to make each one different. Different images, different colours, different techniques and different sentiments. So when I came to this one I decided my sentiment really needed to stand out, and for that I reached for the Well Written Dies. FIRST ... VIEW POST
Another Stella Snowman Card
Today's project kind of just happened. Quite simply it started after a Saran Wrap background popped into my head. Then I thought 'winter' and chose a pale blue and grey colour scheme. Winter of course meant snow, and I opted for snowmen rather than snowflakes. With shimmer and shine provided by a retiring Glimmer Paper and a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, all I had to do was put it all together. CUSTOM BACKGROUND I began my project with the custom Saran Wrap background on a 3-3/4" x ... VIEW POST
Just Breathe
As more details emerge of the tragedy that happened here in Nova Scotia on Sunday it's easy to become overwhelmed. We all want to know what happened and why someone would do something like this. But sometimes we simply need to take a step back and just breathe. The answers will come in time. Today's project isn't at all what I had planned. It's a pocket photo album that I will now fill with photos showing the beauty and serenity of my part of Nova Scotia. While healing will take time, we ... VIEW POST
Colour Combination Inspiration
Sitting at home yesterday watching the snow pile up, I was glad to be able to play in my craft studio. While the yard outside (what little I could see of it) was turning white I went in search of bright colours. In the end I made a number of projects. This one was inspired by the colour combination from the January 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit, I'll Bee Yours. ABSTRACT BACKGROUND I began with Highland Heather and Rococo Rose ink pads and a scrunched up ball of Saran Wrap (cling film). To ... VIEW POST
