Yesterday while thinking of other things I decided to play with a four colour combination for a design challenge. The colours chosen by the Hand Stamped Sentiments team were Grapefruit Grove, Terracotta Tile, Mint Macaron and Pretty Peacock. My immediate thought was to create something with an autumn feel, maybe with leaves and berries. Then I decided that was a bit obvious. Instead I grabbed some Saran Wrap (cling film) and started stamping an abstract background, and everything fell into ... VIEW POST
Snowman Season Sneak Peek
Yesterday I brought you an autumn-themed sneak peek. Today we move on to winter with the Snowman Season Stamp Set and a pocket photo album. I love decorating these mini albums and it seems the customers in the local craft store love to buy them. So even though snowman season is (hopefully) a few months off yet, here's what I came up with this morning. WINTER SKY I began my project by removing the boring cover inserts and cutting two pieces of Whisper White Card to replace them. Then ... VIEW POST
Beauty & Joy Sneak Peek
Yesterday after my first sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue I went out for a drive. It's only the third week in August but already the trees are starting to show signs of a new season. While I'm not quite ready for summer to be over, I do love autumn colours. So that's what inspired today's project using the new Beauty & Joy Stamp Set. DISTINKTIVE OAK TREE I began this project by creating my little oak tree. Beauty & Joy is a two-step, Distinktive stamp ... VIEW POST
Super Saran Wrap Technique
I love experimenting with new techniques, especially when they are easy. Today I have a new take on an old favourite of mine. When done in shades of blue I've been calling it the Cracked Ice Technique as that's exactly what it looks like. But today I can only refer to it as the Super Saran Wrap Technique. Hopefully you'll understand why. SUPER SARAN WRAP This project all started with a 2" strip of Shimmery White Card punched at the top using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. I had ... VIEW POST
Ta Ta Thankful Thoughts
I'm continuing my quest to use retiring products as least once more before they're gone forever. Today's project uses two sentiments from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set. Other retiring products used were the Swirly Bird Stamp Set and coordinating Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, and the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes Pack. Phew! SIMPLE CARD BACKGROUND I decided to start my project with the sentiment, using crisp white embossing. Getting good results with ... VIEW POST
Simple inked background
Stampin' Up!s amazing Buy 3 Get 1 promotion on selected packs of Designer Series Paper ends in just a few days and while I love their pretty paper sometimes I want something I don't have in my stash. When that happens I'm happy to create my own backgrounds and that's exactly what I did today using a technique I probably haven't tried in years. I actually started with the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set which I haven't used in a long time. I stamped the main sentiment onto a piece of Very ... VIEW POST
