Today's project once again uses a number of retiring products. It's one that I'm sure has been done before in some way, but I simply couldn't resist it. So using the retiring Coming Home Stamp Set and Balloon Bouquet Punch here's my bookmark tribute to the movie Up! BALLOONS I began my bookmark by cutting a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of the retiring Thick Whisper White Card. Then I shaped one end using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Next I created the cloudy sky using Seaside Spray ink and ... VIEW POST
Seeing A Lot More Sunshine
After a lot of planning and preparation I am finally getting more natural light in my studio. I've spent the best part of the morning helping hubby remove the old french doors. Then by the end of today they will be have been replaced by doors with a much greater proportion of glass. The doors have actually needed replacing for a long time and the change will make my studio much more comfortable to work in too. Of course having an uninterrupted view of our garden and being able to make the ... VIEW POST
Snowflake Scrap Inspiration
Today's project was one of those happy accidents that happen in my studio from time to time. I'd been designing a card and for one of the layers cut a 2" strip from the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. After trimming the piece down for my card I realised that the leftover piece was the perfect width for a bookmark. I already had my heat embossing tools out for the other project so I didn't need ink. All I had to do was choose an appropriate sentiment and put it all ... VIEW POST
Pampered Pets – Cat First Obviously
A few weeks ago I received my birthday present from my daughter, the Pampered Pets bundle from Stampin' Up! For various reasons I've only just got round to playing with it but now I can't put it down! So be prepared for lots of new projects featuring the cats and dogs from the set. Today for my simple Sunday project I decided to show you a quick bookmark featuring the happy cat. DEFINITELY PAMPERED I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of Thick Very Vanilla ... VIEW POST
Seeing Spots And Drawing Lines
As I continue with my sneak peeks from the August to December 2020 Mini Catalogue I thought is was time to add a little texture. Over the past year or so I think I've really begun to appreciate how embossing folders can enhance a project. From the simple lines of the appropriately named Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to the detail of the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder, each one is a work of art. For today's project I chose one of the two 3-3/8" x 6-1/4" folders in the new Wrapped In Texture pack. ... VIEW POST
Paper Tole or Paper Piecing, it’s still fun
Crafting of any kind can become expensive and I'm always looking for ways to use my products rater than wasting them. That means when I have scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP) I keep them in their original pack along with the full sheets. I must admit that I keep tiny pieces, I mean, really tiny. After all I never know when I'll need that small piece for a project. Today was one of those days when my tiny scraps of DSP came into their own as I created a pretty bookmark. Whether you call ...
