Although I spent most of my life in the UK living in a very large town I'm a country girl at heart. When we moved to Nova Scotia I really wanted to live in a rural area. We were fortunate to find a home with a view of the bay to the front, open fields to the side and woods at the back. The property had all the rustic charm I was looking for and I have not been disappointed. Every day there's something new to see, from insects to birds to larger critters, and as I stand and watch them I know ... VIEW POST
Sunflower Love And New Ribbon
After being obsessed with the new Forever Fern Stamp Set over the past week, I've successfully moved on. Sort of... For my final sneak peek I wanted to show you a project featuring some of the new In Color ribbon. I succeeded, but in the process went back to my other recent obsession, the sunflower. SIMPLE START With the sunflower theme in my head I chose warm colours for my bookmark. I started by cutting a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card for the bookmark base. Then I ... VIEW POST
Forever Fern And An Olive Branch
It appears that the internet is cutting in and out, so I'll make my blog post a quick one. A few days ago I showed you a masculine / gender neutral card and said that it had started life as a bookmark idea. Finally today I got around to designing a leafy bookmark, this time using the new Forever Fern Stamp Set. DISTINKTIVE® FOLIAGE I began this project with a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch I shaped one end to create my basic ... VIEW POST
Come Sail Away With Seaside Stripes
Today's project was already half made when I sat down this morning. You see, when I'm creating I often end up with pieces left over. If it's a stamped image I always keep it with the stamp set for another day. So this morning when I opened up the A Great Man box, out fell a stamped and coloured image. So with a little striped paper from the Come Sail Away pack I had a masculine gift tag in record time. RELAX AND COLOUR The image I found had been stamped onto Whisper White Card using ... VIEW POST
So Long Special Celebrations
Today's Simple Sunday project uses quite a few retiring products. I hadn't planned it that way, but sometimes it's just what happens. I chose the Special Celebrations Stamp Set for a sentiment, and by the time my tag was done I'd used a retiring paper, card, twine, punch and embellishment too! THREE PUNCHES Before I did anything else I wanted to first make my tag base. I cut two 2" x 4-1/4" strips, one from Whisper White Card and the other from the retiring Mosaic Mood Specialty ... The Essence of Creativity?
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Today's project is not what I set out to make. I started with an idea for a card, using the retiring Beautiful You Stamp Set. I chose the image of the lady with an umbrella. Then I chose the sentiment "Wishing you brighter days to come". Then I went looking for some paper to link with the "bright" part of the sentiment. Having looked through a number of packs I once again veered towards the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP). The very ... VIEW POST
