Well it seems the weather forecast changed again while I wasn't looking. Our first snowfall of the season started late yesterday afternoon and continued into the evening. This morning we awoke to about an inch of snow on the ground. It's the kind of snow I like, clean and white and not very deep. Despite the below zero temperature it's now melting away in the bright sunshine. I suspect by this afternoon it will have all gone. Until the next time. So this morning I decided to make a ... An Early Goodbye To Some Inks
Tuesday's the day when Stampin' Up! Demonstrators get news from the Home Office. Today we were advised that we have to say an early goodbye to some ink pads and refills. Fortunately the tag project I'd planned to show you doesn't include these inks so we'll start with that first. AN EMBOSSING FOLDER EXPERIMENT This was more of an experiment than anything else as I tried not to waste some damaged foil sheet. I began by trimming the Blueberry Bushel piece from the Nobel Peacock Foil ... VIEW POST
Embrace The Brick Wall
You've probably guessed by now that I'm passionate about papercrafting. I suppose I have to be to design and create a new project every day for my blog. That doesn't mean that I don't experience a creative block every now and again, I do. However when I hit that brick wall I simply sit down and start playing and experimenting with tools and materials. I don't have a finished project in mind, or any kind of plan. I just play for the fun of it and try not to stress about 'making ... VIEW POST
Sidetracked By The Scenery
I am often inspired in my crafting by the local scenery here in Nova Scotia. At this time of year it is the amazing autumn colour palette that has me stopping the car, or jumping up from my desk. When the light is just right everything seems to glow. Sadly though, today may be one of my last opportunities to admire autumn at it's finest as we are due some bad weather which will likely strip the remaining leaves from the trees. So here's a gift tag inspired by a trip out yesterday... A ... VIEW POST
WCMD Challenge Completed, Just
Oh my goodness am I tired! Yesterday at 5.55 pm, with just 5 minutes to spare I completed my World Card Making Day challenge. I'd decided for WCMD that I'd once again attempt to design and create from scratch, 24 cards in 24 hours. If that wasn't enough I also wrote a blog post and did a load of washing in that time too. No I'm not superwoman, just completely daft. Yesterday I was definitely running on adrenaline and 2 hours sleep, today I'm tired. So instead of making another project I've ... VIEW POST
Alohomora And Other Unique Words
It's no secret that I'm a book-lover and am quite old-school in that I like printed books rather than e-versions. There's something quite special about settling into a cosy chair with a good book and a hot drink. A love of reading is something that I'm happy to say that other family members have developed too. My late son was a voracious reader, and when he died two years ago I kept a number of his books including his well-loved Harry Potter collection. He regularly told me that even if ... VIEW POST
