Even though we’re only just into the second week of the Last Chance promotion with Stampin’ Up! some things have already sold out. As an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I’m able to see the changing stock levels, and many more retiring products are showing as “low inventory”. One of the stamp sets that’s almost gone is Sentimental Swirls. I especially like this set for the decorative swirls which gives the stamp set its name. So today I couldn’t resist making one final project using heat ... VIEW POST
Brick Texture Adds Interest
Today’s card project comes to you courtesy of another design challenge. This time it was the Hand Stamped Sentiment Color Challenge that inspired me with a combination of three blues. Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point would normally result a sea-themed project, and I have to admit it did cross my mind. However in the end I decided to go with something much more geometric. It was only later that I thought of embossing the background. So that’s when the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing ... VIEW POST
Not One Challenge But Two
Today has been another one of those days where everything just seems to have taken forever. I suppose I shouldn’t have expected to be completely recovered from COVID just because I no longer need to self-isolate. Still it’s very frustrating not be able to achieve as much as I want to in a day. Today’s project is a pretty birthday card inspired by two different challenge blogs. I definitely wouldn’t have created this card without their input. I hope you like the finished result, despite the ... VIEW POST
Sentimental Swirls For A Simple Card
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I love the new Sentimental Swirls Stamp Set. There’s something really satisfying about stamping those bold outlines. They look good just as they are, or coloured in using a variety of techniques. What’s more, the flowers and one of the leaves coordinate with two punches although they’re certainly not essential. However for today’s simple Sunday project I wanted to concentrate on the largest of the swirls. With some patterned paper and a little ... VIEW POST
Pretty Pillowbox For Spring
Today the weather is bright and sunny, but frigid. I'm not a cold weather person so winter can’t be over soon enough for me. I feel like a toddler constantly asking "Is it spring yet?" and being repeatedly disappointed. While I wait I've decided it can be spring in my craft studio and hopefully that will keep me going. So this morning I pulled out the Pretty Pillowbox Dies (carried over from the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue) and decided it was definitely time for the daisies to ... VIEW POST
Hello Again With Sentimental Swirls
Sentimental Swirls may just be my latest obsession in stamp sets. This set of photopolymer (see-through) stamps is most easily recognisable from the very large ornate flourish. There's also two smaller flourishes. But as well as those there are four sentiments (happy birthday, thank you, for you, and hello). Then the other twenty stamps are 10 outline images of a bird, simple flowers and leaves, with 10 solid stamps you can use to fill each image with colour. Today though I was thinking of ... VIEW POST
