It’s been decades since I last rode a bike and I’m not even sure I could still do it. However the mountain biker in the Greatest Journey Dies really called to me. It reminds me of my son who never learned to drive but preferred to cycle everywhere. He loved the freedom cycling gave him to go anywhere and he liked to ride fast, especially when zipping past friends and work colleagues with a grin on his face. So using this simple silhouette and a sentiment I designed this card. GREATEST ... VIEW POST
Nature’s Prints For Silhouettes
I love the simple look of silhouettes. There’s something quite magical about a dark shape against a lighter, brighter background. In the past Stampin’ Up! have even created silhouette stamps, but sadly they have long since retired. When I recently bought the Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set I had an idea to use it as a simple background for silhouettes. I just needed the right image to layer on top. Then while making something else using the Nature’s Prints Stamp Set I noticed the solution was right ... VIEW POST
Lovely Simple Stamped Gift Tag
I have no idea how it can be Sunday again. The days are flying by far too fast for my liking, if only my list of chores would disappear as fast. I'm determined to make a dent in them today so my blog will be short and sweet. I've gone back to an older but still available stamp set Lovely You for this quick folded gift tag. It's the perfect project for a little simple Sunday crafting. BLOCK STAMPED BACKGROUND My project began with a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla Card and an ... VIEW POST
Improvising With Forever Flourishing Dies
Well that was an interesting 24 hours. This time yesterday it had started snowing and I could barely see the end of the driveway through the storm. By 2.30pm the deck and steps we impassable and it was at least 6" deep outside the garage. So out came the snowblower and we spent an hour restoring access. Then in the evening and overnight rain was forecast, in fact a lot of rain. So now almost all the snow has gone and we're enjoying sunshine and blue sky. That makes me much happier and I ... Silhouette Scenes For Simple Stamping
I'm a sucker for a silhouette. I adore the simplicity of these images while somehow still showing so much detail. I also love it when I can 'cheat' with a background scene. So this project, created at the beginning of the month for World Cardmaking Day, was a match made in heaven. SILHOUETTE COUPLE I began my project with this image of a couple in the rain from the Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set. The key to a good silhouette is making the image really dark, it doesn't have to be black, ... VIEW POST
Easy Sunset With Sponge Brayers
I love colouring but I find I'm often reaching for the same colouring tools, most recently Stampin' Blends. So with a very busy day ahead of me I decided to grab my Sponge Brayers for a quick bookmark project. Once I'd selected a sentiment and image from the Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set I was all set. INK AND BRAYERS I began my project with a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Once I'd shaped the top with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch I was ready to start work with my ... VIEW POST
