For several years now I’ve made my own gift wrapping paper. Whatever the occasion, I simply stamp what I need to coordinate with the card I make. What’s more, I love that unlike much of the commercially produced gift wrap, mine is completely recyclable. The base is a sheet of white packing paper (bought from my local U-Haul depot - a moving company here in Canada). Then using the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set, ink and a little time I created pretty gift wrap for 15 cents a sheet. Bargain! TWICE ... VIEW POST
Family Gnomes
When I sit down to create projects I generally have a fairly good idea of what I want to do. Occasionally though things may take an unexpected turn. Most often it’s because I did something I didn’t really intend to do. Sometimes that means I have to do a quick cover up, other times it’s a good ‘mistake’ that I decide I want to keep. But today’s surprise with the Storybook Gnomes paper occurred as I saw the potential in a scrap of card left over from an earlier project. GNOMES PAPER This ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Moments
Half of the weekend has gone already and I still have so much I want to get done. This heatwave is definitely slowing me down, especially since there’s no breeze coming off the bay right now. So once the washing is on the line I plan to stay indoors where it’s cooler. I need to do some reorganisation in my craft studio, then I’ll probably reward myself with a little crafting. Today’s simple Sunday project is this “thinking of you” card with a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing: Sending Good Thoughts
Today is the first Friday of the month and time for another inspirational blog hop. For the past several years I’ve been part of the A Paper Pumpkin Thing team bringing you alternate project ideas using the latest Paper Pumpkin kit. Today we’re showcasing the July kit called “Sending Good Thoughts”. This nautical-themed kit contained lots of fun pieces for layering. So for my alternate projects I decided to pare it right back with a very simple gender-neutral “thinking of you” card. Followed by ... VIEW POST
Penguin Place Is Back
It’s been a case of déjà vu this morning as I begin to write this blog post. I thought it was time to pull out the Penguin Place Stamp Set and coordinating Penguin Builder Punch to create a sweet Christmas Card. Everything came together as planned and I’m really happy with the results. So why am I left with the nagging feeling that I’ve made this card before? I’ve checked back at my photos from last year and found several projects, but none look remotely like this. Let’s hope so. FLUFFY ... VIEW POST
Kindness Is Simple
Once again the weekend disappeared in record time. One of the highlights was being invited to join a small team of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to collaborate on a monthly PDF tutorial, featuring alternate projects using the latest Paper Pumpkin kit. I’m grateful that they feel my creativity is worth sharing, and humbled that they sought me out to join their team. I accepted their offer and will now do this alongside my other tutorial collaboration with the monthly IDEAS blog hop. So today this ... VIEW POST
