Earlier this month I joined the IDEAS Blog Hop where we brought you lots of ideas for using up various scraps. On that occasion I focussed on ribbon scraps, so today I thought I’d remind you about other things you may have lying around just waiting to be used. I’m talking about those background pieces you may have prepared, or sentiments you stamped but then changed your mind. While my pieces are actually leftover pre-printed parts from the Enjoy the Adventure Memories & More Card pack, the ... VIEW POST
Back To Bamboo
Two weeks from today we’ll find out which Stampin’ Up! products will be retiring from the 2022-2023 Annual and January to April 2023 Mini Catalogues. Every year at this time I’m sad at the thought of seeing favourite items go, but at the same time excited for all the new products that will replace them. I've a horrible feeling that the Bamboo Beauty Stamp Set won’t make the cut as it’s coming up on two years old. So that was the set I chose for today’s simple caring card project. EASY ... VIEW POST
Simple Shapes
So it happened. Overnight someone stole an hour and I’m now playing catch-up. Thankfully my #simplestamping project was already made but I still had the blog post to write. I shouldn’t complain as I much prefer the lighter evenings we’ll now have in Nova Scotia. However it would have been nice if ‘summer time’ brought with it summer weather, but I suppose that will come eventually. For now though I’ll stay in and continue to create one last project using stamp sets I think may retire soon, like ... VIEW POST
Starry Sky
Yesterday’s gift tag was a fun exploration of a new die set, but all those little pieces for the floral decoration were quite fiddly. So for today’s card I decided it might be a good idea to keep things much simpler. In the Enjoy The Journey 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I’d noticed a beautiful starry sky scene and kept being drawn back to it. This would be the coordinating feature for my project, all I needed was the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set and some ribbon. STARRY ... VIEW POST
Happiness Is Purple
Our lovely weather didn’t hold and last week the garden was smothered by a thick blanket of snow. However like other snowstorms we’ve had this winter, subsequent sunny days have helped to melt some of it. Still I have a feeling it will be a while yet before the flowers begin to emerge. As a result I’m forced to create spring in my craft studio again. So for this week’s simple Sunday project I pulled out the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (DSP), along with my favourite purple ... VIEW POST
Delicate Layers
If you’ve been making cards for years like me you’ll know nothing is really new. While I do try different ideas and techniques many of the trends go in cycles. I’ve also found that, at least in my studio, I revisit the same card layouts. One that I don’t think I’ve used in a while invokes the power of three. Three matted layers, three colours, three embellishments, and today, even three words in the sympathy sentiment. It all started with the Delicate Desert 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper ... VIEW POST
