Since the Envelope Punch Board retired I've been looking at alternate ways to dress up a gift card. I've created a little pocket style giftcard holder but wanted something a bit larger as well. So for today's Simple Sunday project I have a combined card and giftcard holder option for you. GIFTCARD HOLDER BASE For today's giftcard holder base I began with a card from the Magnolia Lane Cards & More Pack. This pack contains ten Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4-1/4: cards with envelopes, plus ... Patterned Paper With Two Sides
One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! patterned paper (DSP) is that is has a different design on each side. In addition, the colours and patterns can be used together on a single project. This was a subject that I demonstrated in an article I wrote for Inspiration Canada, a monthly e-newsletter that is sent out to all Stampin' Up! demonstrators across Canada. Having shown it to them, I thought it would be the perfect card for today's Simple Sunday project. KEEPING IT SIMPLE For ... VIEW POST
Torn Edges For A Different Look
When you're designing 24 different cards in 24 hours it can be difficult to keep them, well, different. Time pressures meant I had to be creative and one way I did that was to include layers with torn edges. The trick with this was to make sure the piece was at least 1/2" larger than I wanted for the finished layer. Then I tore the around the piece, pulling the edge towards me. I've found that with less than 1/2" extra I didn't have enough to hold while I tore. My advice? try it on some ... VIEW POST
Addicted To Gingham
It was only as I sat down to write today's blog post that I realised my chosen Simple Sunday project featured gingham. I had exactly the same gingham pattern on yesterday's project and there's other ginghams on my desk! I may be addicted, but it could be worse, right? GINGHAM PATTERNED PAPER As you've probably guessed, I began my project with gingham paper (this one is from the Come To Gather Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack). First I cut a 2" strip of the DSP and used Multipurpose ... VIEW POST
Four Ink Colours Revisited
Last Friday I created a card for the Hand Stamped Sentiments design challenge using four ink colours. The card was pretty simple but had an explosion of colour. Today for my Simple Sunday project I wanted to use those same four ink colours to create a card with a very different feel. FOUR INK COLOURS The four colours required for the challenge were Pretty Peacock, Mint Macaron, Grapefruit Grove and Terracotta Tile. As in my previous card I decided to use all four of these ink colours ... VIEW POST
Christmas Card With #SimpleStamping
It's time for another Simple Sunday project and today I'm taking up the Stampin' Up! #simplestamping challenge. This month we were challenged to create a Christmas or New Year card using just stamps, ink, paper with Designer Series Paper as our bonus product. So twenty minutes ago I sat down, grabbed the Rustic Retreat Stamp Set and Let It Snow DSP and ended up with this Christmas card. It all started when I pulled out a scrap of paper from the Let It Snow pack covered in little snowmen. ... VIEW POST
