Are you frugal with your pretty patterned paper? I know I am. So this morning I set out to make a card with a coordinating envelope and gift tag from one 6x6 piece of paper. Why 6x6? Because Stampin' Up! sell paper in 6" x 6" and 12" x 12" (which makes four 6x6 pieces). Either way this means you could make 48 cards and 48 tags from one pack of DSP. Here's my first idea using paper that has a definite directional pattern. CUTTING THE 6x6 DSP The one thing that I can't change is the ... VIEW POST
Bird Ballad Meets Vibrant Vases
I absolutely love how Stampin' Up! coordinates its products and makes putting together projects so easy. Most of the time the coordination is obvious like when they create a whole suite of products. Sometimes though the coordination is more subtle and it takes a while for me to catch on. Today I was really excited to discover that the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP) coordinates with the Vibrant Vases Stamp Set! It really turned designing my Simple Sunday project into something extra ... VIEW POST
Anything But The Wind
So when I went to bed last night Hurricane Dorian was due to hit Nova Scotia as a Category 2 hurricane. This morning it's back down to a very strong Category 1. Either way we are going to get battered by the wind and rain over the next 36 hours or so. Inevitably it's made me think about the weather and I've decided rain is OK, snow is OK but wind? No thank you. We've secured everything outside as much as we can and have our emergency bag ready. Houdini, our black cat, can complain all ... VIEW POST
Our Stormy Outlook
After an extremely busy day yesterday I came home late and very tired and pretty much went straight to bed. This morning I awoke thinking I'd have a bit of a lazy day, but now I'm not so sure. Hurricane Dorian is on the move again and back up to a Category 3 hurricane. It's still hugging the US eastern seaboard but apparently has Nova Scotia in its sights. I'm not going to panic (just yet) but it makes sense to begin preparations for the inevitable bad weather that's coming our way. ... VIEW POST

Birds Of A Feather Sneak Peek
It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Nova Scotia and I'm making the most of the good weather while it lasts. Of course that hasn't stopped me looking forward, especially with my sneak peeks from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. For today's Simple Sunday project I chose the Birds Of A Feather Stamp Set and the Star Designer Elements. BLACK AND WHITE I wanted to keep things really simple so started by stamping the Christmas bird image onto Whisper White Card using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I ... VIEW POST
