When I first started papercrafting I didn't use a whole lot of patterned paper. However over the past several years I've begin to use it more and more. Of course Stampin' Up!'s stunning Designer Series Paper (DSP) has been a big factor in that. The quality of the paper (almost lightweight card) and the amazing patterns and images created by the Stampin' Up! designers make it a great option. The other thing I love is that the colours used in the designs are listed on the packaging and in the ... VIEW POST
Heirloom Script And Vintage Lace
When I lived in the UK I spent a lot of time researching my family history. I loved following the clues in historical records to find out things that gave a window into my family's past. Spending time looking at census and other documents meant I came to appreciate different types of handwriting. So it was probably unsurprising that I fell in love with the new Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set. I knew it would be perfect for a Simple Sunday card. SIMPLE BACKGROUND But before I got to the ... Time to Go Cookie Cutter Teddy
This morning I woke up with absolutely no idea what I was going to make for my blog project. Yes I know I should make it at least the night before, but sometimes life gets in the way. Then I read this morning's notices from Stampin' Up! In May our #simplestamping focus is on retiring stamp sets, and projects should use just stamps, ink and paper. Well that was easy. All I needed was to choose a stamp set, so why not Cookie Cutter Christmas? BABY BLUE With yesterday's news about the ... VIEW POST
Geared Up To Go
Today I will have the pleasure of entertaining some Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from New Brunswick. We'll be spending four fun-filled hours playing with products from the new Catalogue and talking about all the good things to come. So while I'm doing that let me remind you of a few things current items that are retiring. Masculine projects are often challenging, so today's Simple Sunday project includes a couple of retiring items that you might want to get before they're gone for ... VIEW POST
Very Sorry Very Vintage
Today, I'm expecting my parcels of new products from the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue. I'm holding a 4 hour event for Demonstrators on Sunday and really need to start preparing my 8 projects, so I'm hoping the packages arrive promptly. Once they do, I'm going to lock myself in my studio and play. In the meantime I'm continuing to work my way through retiring products. Today it's the turn of the Very Vintage (Host) Stamp Set with lots of Powder Pink. SIMPLE STAMPING This project really ... VIEW POST
Lovely As A Tree is Retiring!!
As I write this blog post I am still in shock. Something I never imagined has finally happened. Stampin' Up! is retiring the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set. Lovely As A Tree was the set that drew me to Stampin' Up! and is a classic. The stand of bare trees is one I've used many times in the 5 years I've had the set, and it seems only fitting that it's that image that I use on today's Simple Sunday project. #SIMPLESTAMPING I began with a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card cut and scored on ...
