One product that I’m really sad to see retire from the Stampin’ Up! range is their Slimline Envelopes pack. This pack of 15 envelopes (5 each in white, Smoky Slate and Soft Succulent) have been such fun to play with. Looking at it now I don’t know why I was surprised at the decision, after all Soft Succulent is a retiring In Color. Still, I hoped that perhaps they’d bring out a new pack in different colours. So using my last remaining slimline envelope I created this colourful birthday ... VIEW POST
Celebrate A Different Angle
Do you have trouble seeing obvious things in other ways? I know I do. For instance I often find that when I know what something is supposed to be I have a hard time accepting it as anything else. Patterned paper is a particular problem, especially with “scene’ type designs. For this reason I always celebrate when my brain manages to see ‘outside the box’. Like this morning when I pulled a sheet of ‘trees’ from a pack, but they were sideways and suddenly all I saw was ragged stripes. ENJOY ... VIEW POST
Flowers Of Friendship
Did you realise that one week today it will be the end of January! How on earth did that happen? As I get older it definitely seems like the days and weeks are speeding by faster than ever. Good job too, as I’m bored with winter now, and the winter storm warning that appeared overnight. I’m definitely a warm weather girl and spring can’t arrive soon enough. Perhaps that’s why I paired the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set with this sheet from the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper (DSP) ... VIEW POST
Desert Designs?
Have you ever wondered about how Stampin’ Up! names their products? Stamp sets are often (but not always) named for one of the sentiments, or at least a close approximation. Dies that coordinate with a stamp set were given a similar name, but that has started to change. Now you’ll find stamp sets and dies have exactly the same name to make the coordination more apparent. Paper pack names are not so obvious and can sometimes be a little misleading. Take the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper ... VIEW POST
Celebrate With A Sash
I've made a few slimline cards but I'm pretty sure I've always taken the easy option of using 12" x 12" paper. However today I decided to try make this simple Sunday project using paper that's pre-cut at 6" x 6". Whenever I design a card I always decorate the inside and the accompanying envelope, and doing all that with one single 6” x 6” sheet of paper would be a challenge. I managed it though and the result was this birthday card using the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set. 6x6 PAPER ... VIEW POST
Christmas Money
It’s August 31st, and here in Nova Scotia the last day of the meteorological summer is going to be hot and humid. So naturally I’m thinking of cooler weather and looking forward to Christmas. As I sat down to create today’s project I decided it was time for another slimline card idea. Then while I was working it struck me that slimline cards are the perfect solution for those gifts of money, or concert / theatre tickets. How is it I’ve not thought of that before? Better late than ... VIEW POST
