If you saw my Papercraft With Me Facebook page over the weekend you’ll know that the remnants of Hurricane Lee visited us here in Nova Scotia. As expected we lost power for a time during Saturday and there was nothing to do but ride it out. As well as reading, I spent time in my craft studio. Without power I couldn’t use my Heat Tool, but everything else was available to me. So I decided to create a wedding card while getting the shining gold from paper, ribbon and embellishments. My Sentiments Exactly
Our granddaughter has been visiting with us from the UK for the past three weeks and the time has simply flown by. We’ve been so busy visiting places that there’s been hardly any time to craft. So our plan for today is to spend some quality time exploring my latest box of goodies from Stampin’ Up! But first we need to write some thank you cards. This one was made using the Charming Sentiments and Petal Park Stamp Sets. Of the 17 Charming Sentiments, “beyond grateful” seemed particularly ... VIEW POST
Something Sea Inspired
Last week I spent some quality time with my granddaughter on Brier Island here in Nova Scotia. Our trip was quite eventful with car trouble that threatened to scupper our plans. However some amazing locals on Long Island came to our aid and transformed a stressful day into one full of very special memories. We had the most amazing time whale watching and have made fast friends into the bargain. On our return I wanted to make thank you cards and this one is definitely something inspired by the ... Playing with Animals Again
After yesterday’s #simplestamping project featuring the llama from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set I was inspired to make a project featuring another animal. This time I reached for the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set and the coordinating dies. I decided to create my own ‘scene’ including texture from the Crosshatch embossing folder (part of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders pack). Then there’s some simple layers using torn and inked card. By the time I was done I had this sweet thank you card with a ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop: Elegance & Fun Folds
Welcome to another IDEAS Blog Hop where this month our theme is “Fun Folds”. These can get quite complicated so my contribution to the tutorial PDF is a simple gate-fold card that you could adapt and dress up depending on your own skills and experience. Then for today’s blog post I designed a coordinating gift tag. Both the card and tag were inspired by a piece of Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP) left over from a previous project, along with with some of the spectacular More Dazzle ... VIEW POST
The Power Of Prayer
In the Fresh As A Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack there are a couple of sheets made up of small panels. I know I’ve mentioned it before and used a number of the panels on various projects. My favourite is definitely the small summer scene. However I’ve been determined to make the most of this and I’m not afraid to chop it up. So today I decided to make this prayer journal for a very special friend using the two small sky scraps I had left. I began with a spiral bound ... VIEW POST
