It’s funny how a little bit of sunshine and blue sky can raise the spirits. While I’m still in COVID self-isolation I’m enjoying the first signs of spring. Today we were treated to the sight of a dozen white-tailed deer in the area behind our house. The birds are out, and so was one of our resident red squirrels. I love living in rural Nova Scotia with all the wildlife that comes to visit. We’re working on creating a flower meadow in the back field and that inspired ... VIEW POST
Pretty Pillowbox For Spring
Today the weather is bright and sunny, but frigid. I'm not a cold weather person so winter can’t be over soon enough for me. I feel like a toddler constantly asking "Is it spring yet?" and being repeatedly disappointed. While I wait I've decided it can be spring in my craft studio and hopefully that will keep me going. So this morning I pulled out the Pretty Pillowbox Dies (carried over from the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue) and decided it was definitely time for the daisies to ... VIEW POST
Daffodil Daydream Is On The Way
Did you see yesterday's five star kick off to my January to June Mini Catalogue sneak peeks? Today's project is a simple card using another new stamp set. Daffodil Daydream is simply gorgeous and perfect for spring crafting. There are two main daffodil images, a butterfly, a decorative border, and a fine splatter image. The "Easter blessings" and "Happy Mother's Day" sentiments are quite specific and not everyone will need, these but that's just two stamps out of the set. Oh, and did I ... VIEW POST
Fabulous Daisies But Only On Paper
It will be spring soon, but right now Old Man Winter is making his presence known with a bitter wind and sub-zero temperatures. I'm done with the cold now and could really do with some nice warmer spring weather. I can't wait for the garden to spring back to life and am eagerly awaiting the signs of new growth. After the green of new grass, come the dandelions. I don't mind them as they're a first food source for the bees. My favourite 'weed' has to be daisies though, they're simple but ... VIEW POST
Forever Flourishing Makes Its Debut
Spring has been a long time coming. It's as if the alarm went off but she hit the snooze button and went back to sleep for a few extra weeks. Finally though my crab apple trees have come into leaf and the blossoms are hopefully not far behind. So with warmer weather and blue skies outside I was inspired to make a project using the new Forever Flourishing Dies. A LITTLE PREPARATION I began my gift tag by cutting a 2" x 3-1/2" piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then using some Stampin' ... VIEW POST
Starting Easter With Some Me Time
Today is the first day of a three day Easter break for me. If you've been following my blog you'll know that I'm currently working as a pharmacy assistant. I really enjoy the job, but I must admit it can be stressful at times. To add to everything else I have now developed dermatitis on my hands extending up both arms. My doctor believes it could be due to stress or something I've come into contact with. I suspect the constant handwashing and cleaning at work may have played it's part. The ... VIEW POST
