And just like that it's the last Thursday of the month and time for another A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. This month we've got alternate project ideas for the amazing March kit "No Matter The Weather". For my projects I decided to set aside the second free stamp set and concentrate on the smaller set. With everything that's happening in the world with COVID19 I was immediately struck by the sentiments in this kit. These are so apt right now and I really wanted to focus on two of them ... VIEW POST
Spring Wreath Decor (Papercraft Style)
A few weeks back I was playing with punches and created some 3D daffodils. Then I used one of them on card for St. David's Day. Today I have another daffodil / narcissus project but on a much bigger scale, a spring wreath. ROPE WREATH I found this rope circle in my local Dollarama. It measures 11" across and has what feels like a solid metal core. It certainly is very sturdy and I decided it would make an ideal base for my spring wreath. I began by cutting out the individual ... VIEW POST
I Simply Love Cherry Blossoms
While we're still dealing with winter and the extreme cold that brings, other places are more fortunate. I've even seen photos of trees covered in spring blossoms! There's something about apple and cherry blossoms that makes me smile. Maybe its the realisation that winter is finally over with lighter evenings and much milder temperatures. For now though I'll just have to get my smiles from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set and coordinating Cherry Blossoms Dies. ALWAYS AND FOREVER I ... VIEW POST
The First Crocus In My Collection
I'm still working my way through my parcel of new goodies from Stampin' Up! and having such fun. Yesterday I realised that it was definitely getting lighter in the evenings, and spring must be on its way. So was it any wonder that I chose crocus images for today's project. PURPLE CROCUS Whenever I think of a crocus my first thought is purple. Stampin' Up! give us a lovely choice of purples but I decided to use Highland Heather for the front of my project. But first I had to stamp the ... VIEW POST
Sitting Here Wishing For Spring
In a little over a week it will be the shortest day of the year. Then we can look forward to the warmer days of spring. Of course we still have winter for a couple of months yet, but a girl can dream... SIMPLE SPRING SCENE I began today's project with a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Thick Whisper White Card. To create the bookmark base I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch which shapes the top and punches the ribbon slot in one go. Then using Pear Pizzazz ink I stamped the flower outline ... VIEW POST
First Frost WWYS196
It's not yet the end of November but we've had snow on the ground for a few days and it's not melting. I don't know what happened to autumn, but I must have blinked and missed it. The long range forecast says Nova Scotia is in for a long cold winter with lots of snow, and I'm already wishing for milder temperatures. So today I thought I'd turn First Frost into springtime for my What Will You Stamp? Challenge Design Team project. A SOLID BASE When I was looking through my miscellaneous ... VIEW POST
