Do you like big background stamps? I must say that I used to struggle to find ways to use them in my projects. More recently though that process has become easier. I’m not sure whether it’s just me evolving as a papercrafter or the stamp designs I’ve chosen. Either way using background stamps as the main image on a card can be great fun. So today I wanted to give you another card project using the Perfectly Detailed background stamp. It could be coloured, but it doesn’t have to ... VIEW POST
Black For Christmas?
This morning’s papercraft project was inspired by a number of different ‘crafty’ posts that I’ve seen on social media over the past few days. These all caught my eye as they used black cardstock as their base. I was immediately struck by how the decoration really popped out against the black background. So having more Basic Black Card scraps around than I’d like, I decided to use some to create a Christmas gift tag. Also among my scraps I found a die-cut floral piece and it all progressed from ... A Paper Pumpkin Thing: From The North Pole
It’s the first Friday in the month and that means it’s time for another A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month is all about the November kit called “From The North Pole”. I’ve had lots of fun with this kit including designing alternate projects to the original gift tag designs. This kit is really versatile but what’s even better is that like many Paper Pumpkin kits it’s given me ideas for projects long after the kit is used up. But for today here’s a simple Christmas card and ... VIEW POST
Celebrate With Rays Of Light
Today my first task was to celebrate the launch of the Last Chance Promotion and Clearance Rack refresh with a small order. I was also planning to take advantage of a Demonstrator perk by placing an order for some new products from the January to April Mini Catalogue. But first I needed to finish my blog post. Unfortunately we had strong winds and torrential rain overnight which caused the power to go out. After 9 hours it’s finally restored, and so I’m celebrating the return of heat and light ... Florets Of Poppies Today
Did you look at the Framed Florets Stamp Set and see poppies? No me neither until this morning as I was thinking about what I should make for today’s blog post. I suspect that as poppies have been very visible these past few weeks I’ve been reminded of their shape. So in honour of Remembrance Day I designed this “Thinking of you” card. It’s a simple layout made special by the addition of black heat embossing. But to prevent damage to the glossy embossing I needed to utilise my ... VIEW POST
Penguin Place Is Back
It’s been a case of déjà vu this morning as I begin to write this blog post. I thought it was time to pull out the Penguin Place Stamp Set and coordinating Penguin Builder Punch to create a sweet Christmas Card. Everything came together as planned and I’m really happy with the results. So why am I left with the nagging feeling that I’ve made this card before? I’ve checked back at my photos from last year and found several projects, but none look remotely like this. Let’s hope so. FLUFFY ... VIEW POST
