You’ve probably noticed I’ve been AWOL for the past couple of weeks. During this time I’ve been dealing with health issues which are thankfully on the way to being resolved. But it’s been an odd time. As well as not writing my daily blog, I’ve not been crafting either! However tomorrow I’m celebrating 10 years as an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and it’s the perfect time to get going again. So here’s a simple birthday card using the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set for this month’s Share It ... VIEW POST
Gilded Border & Altered Paper
This week’s simple Sunday blog post is short and sweet with an idea for an easy gender-neutral thank you card. This was actually number 23 in my ‘24 cards in 24 hours’ marathon last month. Despite almost running out of time the card includes a couple of simple ways to get more from your patterned paper. This is definitely a favourite theme of mine as the more ways I can find to use my paper the less waste there is. So with markers and Gilded Leafing I set to work. ALTERED PAPER I began ... VIEW POST
Fluffiest Friends Sneak Peek
Today’s project is a quick sneak peek of a new stamp set and dies being released by Stampin’ Up! on Tuesday (November 7th). They’re called Fluffiest Friends and I just couldn’t resist these cute images. The stamp set includes a rabbit, bird, bear and hamster. Plus I don’t think the Canadians among you will be able to resist that sweet beaver. But for my first project using this set I reached for the fat cat and a couple of the small ‘scene-builder’ stamps. I simply love how it turned ... VIEW POST
Trucking Along Again
While I love buying patterned paper for specific occasions I don’t like the leftovers once an event is done. That’s why I always look for other ways to use the paper I buy. Take the O Holy Night 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) for instance... it was designed to coordinate with the Night Divine Stamp Set and dies to create Christmas cards with a religious theme, but I discovered that it’s also great for masculine cards, especially when combined with the Trucking Along Stamp Set and builder ... Rustic Pumpkins & More
One of the things that originally attracted me to the Rustic Crate Stamp Set was the pretty images. I’ve always been a sucker for poinsettias, but this set had a gorgeous autumn arrangement of pumpkins, sunflowers and corn-cobs. So when I had to create a card in a hurry this was a bit of a no-brainer. All I needed was some basic layers and my trusty Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. Then just because I could I cut out one image with the coordinating die before quickly putting it all ... VIEW POST
Rhino An In Color® Secret
When I started making cards I didn’t understand why people added layers. It really seemed like an unnecessary cost. But as time passed I realised even the simplest layers added interest. That’s why I love Stampin’ Up!s commitment to colour coordination, it makes everything much easier. For example, when designing this card using the Rhino Ready Stamp Set I found a simple background design to match the ink colour. So if you’re looking for 2023-2025 In Color backgrounds, check out the Fresh As A ... VIEW POST
