November 27th is a big day. It's the 5th anniversary of me signing up to be an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I've had so much fun over the past 5 years and I cherish every friendship I've made during that time. It's also the start of the final 48 hour online extravaganza promotion and I have a feeling it's going to be really popular. This final sale is all about tools and inks so almost all the products used on today's project are reduced, including the Cookie ... VIEW POST
Pigs Can Fly
Over the past couple of weeks I've been away at a Stampin' Up! event being held in Orlando, Florida. I had a great time and among other things I am now the proud owner of a 2019 Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration Brochure. Although hubby and I drove down together, he had to fly back early, so I was left to bring the car home alone. Lots of people thought I was mad but I was looking forward to the journey. In the end I completed the trip in just 4 days, and proved that ... VIEW POST
Happy Snowman
OMG the weather over on the east coast has been brutal. Let’s hope these storms aren’t a foretaste of the rest of autumn and winter! I can do without the wind, but to be honest I don’t mind snow, especially when it’s a happy snowman like this one from the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set. THE SNOWSTORM I began with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card that I cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach a piece of the Blueberry Bushel small ... VIEW POST
Merry Christmas Thinlits
How are you doing with your Christmas preparations? Me, not so well. As usual I run out of time before I run out of tasks. So I thought the Merry Christmas Thinlits would be a great way to make some impressive cards fairly quickly. I began by using my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base. Next came the background layer. I lightly spritzed a ... VIEW POST
World Diabetes Day
Today, November 14th is World Diabetes Day, and a day that I felt the need I had to mark. At the age of 23 our son Russell was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and immediately went onto a regime of daily insulin injections, quickly progressing to 4 per day. Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the pancreas causing it to produce little or no insulin. This means that the body is unable to process glucose. Despite active research there is currently no cure ... VIEW POST
Falling For Leaves WWYS194
This week the What Will You Stamp? Challenge is WWYS194 - Falling for Leaves and I must admit it's not one of my favourites from the Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue. Nevertheless I still had fun creating today's project for the Design Team. NOT AUTUMN The Falling for Leaves Stamp Set has a thanksgiving feel and I do like the variety of leaf shapes. For my project though wanted to do something that didn't immediately make you think of autumn. Just to show how the choice of colour can ... VIEW POST
