My regular blog readers will know that I can sometimes have a quirky sense of humour. I’ve also been known to ‘see’ things in my Stampin’ Up! supplies that others may miss. So I simply couldn’t help myself when I saw the snowmen in the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. With a little help from the Half Full Stamp Set and my Paper Snips I soon had one of my favourite Christmas card designs so far this year. PREPARING THE SCENE I began with a piece of Night of ... Country Home WWYS193
Have you ever heard of 'no-line watercolouring'? It's a technique where you stamp an image in a very light colour then paint over it. The pale stamped outline then 'disappears' leaving a watercoloured look with no obvious lines. For my What Will You Stamp? Challenge Design Team project this week I thought I'd try something similar. This week's challenge is WWYS193 Country Home and my project is a covered Post-It Note® pad. THE COVER I started by making a simple wrap-around cover for ... VIEW POST
Love Never Melts
My daughter loves snow, when she can mess around in it with the children that is. Driving in it, not so much. So she's always asking when's the best time to visit us to see snow. Funny enough I never say December, or January, I've found in my little corner of Canada, February is best. So when I saw the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set and the 'love never melts' sentiment I immediately thought of Valentine's Day. Before I knew it I had made today's very simple Sunday project. LOVE NEVER ... VIEW POST
Holly Border Tag
One of my favourite stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue is Peaceful Poinsettia. I simply love the line-art images and the large clean font used for the sentiments. Of course it certainly doesn't hurt that there's coordinating Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits Dies available too. But today I wanted to bring you a quick project featuring the holly border image. FIRST THINGS FIRST To start I needed to create the basic shape for this large gift tag from Thick Very Vanilla ... VIEW POST
Seasonal Chums WWYS192
This week the What Will You Stamp? challenge is WWYS192 Seasonal Chums. This is such a cute stamp set with a snowman, pumpkin and deer plus 5 sentiments. The images feature a back and front view and are designed to be used as folded gift tags, and this is made really easy with the coordinating Seasonal Tags Framelits Dies. Simply stamp once, cut once, then fold. Of course as part of the What Will You Stamp? Design Team I wanted to create something other than a tag. So I designed a card ... VIEW POST
Merry Christmas Pop-Up Card
Yesterday I had a fun couple of hours in my craft studio with a very special guest, my granddaughter Alyssa. She'll be 8 next month and it was such fun to watch her design and create her own pop-up Christmas card. Let me say from the outset that this card was all her idea. She's been playing with the "pop-up" process at home and wanted to show me how to do it. All I did was show her how to put the pop-up layer inside another card to hide the mechanism. Then, apart from some very minor ... VIEW POST
