I love stamp sets and admit I’m a bit of a hoarder. That’s probably not news to you, but I suspect many of you are hoarders too. However even with a stamp set I love I sometimes wish there were other/extra images. This was exactly what happened after I got the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set last year. The two squirrels are so cute but something was definitely missing, separate acorn images. So why was it only after I’d finished today’s project that I realised my wish had been granted? NUTS ... Leaves Of Holly
For several years now I’ve made my own gift wrapping paper. Whatever the occasion, I simply stamp what I need to coordinate with the card I make. What’s more, I love that unlike much of the commercially produced gift wrap, mine is completely recyclable. The base is a sheet of white packing paper (bought from my local U-Haul depot - a moving company here in Canada). Then using the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set, ink and a little time I created pretty gift wrap for 15 cents a sheet. Bargain! TWICE ... VIEW POST
Penguin Place Is Back
It’s been a case of déjà vu this morning as I begin to write this blog post. I thought it was time to pull out the Penguin Place Stamp Set and coordinating Penguin Builder Punch to create a sweet Christmas Card. Everything came together as planned and I’m really happy with the results. So why am I left with the nagging feeling that I’ve made this card before? Fern Texture Inspired
Do you ever find yourself looking at a product in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue and being unsure whether or not you like it? I know I do. Take the Fern 3D Embossing Folder, which is part of the Sun Prints suite. I had no hesitation in adding the stamp set, dies and paper to my Demonstrator pre-order but left off that embossing folder. Songbirds Need Notes
I’m so fortunate to live in beautiful rural Nova Scotia. With a house that looks over Cobequid Bay and acres of grassland and trees it’s such a peaceful spot. I’ve always been attracted to nature and love to see the wildlife that comes to visit. Some like the deer are quiet and we only know they’re there if we happen to look out at the perfect moment. Others like the birds are more obvious, and they inspired me to design this cute robin note-card using the Sweet Songbirds Stamp ... VIEW POST
Songbirds Maiden Flight
It’s the weekend, the sun is shining and it’s due to warm up too. This morning there were 9 white-tailed deer vising the all-you-can-eat buffet that is my front lawn. Also more obvious now are the various birds that visit when our black cat Houdini is not in a playful mood. We even saw our first blue jay this year. These brightly coloured birds always make me smile when I see them, so blue was the colour I reached for when designing today’s project using the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set. SWEET ... VIEW POST
