It’s warm, the sun is shining and my to do list is full of fun stuff. It’s going to be a great day. One of my ‘tasks’ is to go through some prints that my daughter took and sent to me recently. All are of her family, but it was a black and white photo that immediately caught my eye. I’d seen this picture of my twin granddaughters when she first took it last year. Today my plan was to use it on a scrapbook page for my family album. SUN PRINTS BACKGROUND My initial idea was to use a ... VIEW POST
Slimline Birthday Greetings
If you’re looking to make something other than a standard A2 (4-1/4” x 5-1/2”) card why not try a slimline? I’ve seen a number of different sizes of slimline cards with different names such as ‘mini slimline’, ‘short slimline’ etc. But the one I prefer starts with a piece of card 7” x 8-1/2”, scored on the short side at 3-1/2”. I like this because it makes great use of 8-1/2” x 11” sheets of card for the base and layers. Plus it fits the Slimline Envelopes from Stampin’ Up! SLIMLINE ... VIEW POST
Symbols Of Fortune Again
In just nine days time, on May 25th, Stampin’ Up! will reveal the Last Chance List and we’ll find out which products from the Stampin’ Up! January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue will be retiring forever. Some products have already been carried over into the 2022/2023 Annual Catalogue. However the question is whether any more will be reprieved. Past experience tells me that all the Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs will go. So today I used one of my favourites, Symbols of Fortune to create this ... VIEW POST
Wildflower Path With Bamboo
Why is it that so many papercrafters say they find making masculine cards the most difficult? I have to admit I used to feel that way too until I developed a sort of blueprint. I’ll often look for a non-flowery paper (or embossing folder), and then stick to simple shapes. But that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Today’s masculine / gender-neutral card is a perfect example of that. After choosing a simple bamboo patterned paper and the Wildflower Path Stamp Set for my ... VIEW POST
Sweets & Treats Is Not Quite Done Yet
I've been going through my stamp sets and other products from the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue that are about to retire. It's always a bitter sweet moment as I hate to say goodbye to my favourites. However it's tempered by the excitement at all the lovely new things that are coming. So until then I'm going to make the most of the time I have left. Today's project uses the retiring Sweets & Treats Stamp Set to make a Christmas fridge magnet to hold those last minute ... VIEW POST
Bring On Christmas With Sweets & Treats
There's only a week left of October and nine weeks today will be Christmas Day. So I have another Christmas card idea for you, and this time it involves a fancy fold. It`s true some fancy fold cards are quite complicated and involve lots of measurements and pieces, but not this one. This is one of the first fancy folds that I teach my beginner stampers and it's called an easel card. This particular design was one I made during my recent 24 cards in 24 hours marathon. EASEL FOLD ... VIEW POST
