Well it’s November 17th and today is the day we may see our first snow of the 2022/2023 winter season. The temperature has certainly come down a lot from the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been treated to this autumn. So today I thought it would be apt to bring you a snowy Christmas card idea. This was number 12 of the 24 cards I designed and made in a 24 hour period last weekend. My starting off point was the Storybook Gnomes paper which will be retiring all too soon. STORYBOOK ... Craft Fair Celebrations
With Remembrance Day over it’s time to really start thinking about Christmas celebrations. Today I’ll be attending the first of a number of craft fairs to sell the things I’ve made throughout the year. I really look forward to these events as it allows me to reconnect with past customers and meet new ones. Before they open to the public I also like to wander around and check out the other stalls. This is a great source of inspiration and I love to see all the hand crafted goods on ... VIEW POST
Storybook Vibes
After a few warm and sunny days, this morning has dawned very differently. Today we awoke to thick fog with a definite chill in the air. Still, it wasn’t all bad because as the light improved we noticed four adult deer enjoying their breakfast that is our lawn. One of the things I love most about living in rural Nova Scotia is seeing the animals that visit our property. So you won’t be surprised they inspired today’s project featuring a deer from the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper (DSP) ... VIEW POST
Gnome For Christmas
It’s less than 10 weeks until Christmas and I’m starting to panic a little bit. Just as in previous years I had great plans to get ahead with my seasonal crafting and once again I’m seriously behind. I suppose Hurricane Fiona didn’t help, but to be honest I was already behind before she hit. Oh well, all I can do is double down and do the best that I can. My first craft fair is on November 12th and today’s cute gnome Christmas card was created with that in mind. CHRISTMAS TREES I began ... VIEW POST
Gnomes The Easy Way
Several months ago I created a custom background using the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks. In fact it was only after making a bookmark it that I thought it might be useful to film the process. Of course having done that I then had another custom background, and it’s been sitting on my desk ever since. Well I’ve finally got around to using part of that piece to create today’s project. That was after I realised that one of the gnomes in the Storybook Gnomes paper and the background coordinated ... VIEW POST
Family Gnomes
When I sit down to create projects I generally have a fairly good idea of what I want to do. Occasionally though things may take an unexpected turn. Most often it’s because I did something I didn’t really intend to do. Sometimes that means I have to do a quick cover up, other times it’s a good ‘mistake’ that I decide I want to keep. But today’s surprise with the Storybook Gnomes paper occurred as I saw the potential in a scrap of card left over from an earlier project. GNOMES PAPER This ... VIEW POST
