Over the past month or so I’ve been trying out some new ideas with my colour schemes. More specifically, experimenting with using fewer colours on my projects. It was a concept I saw on Instagram, and the notion of less colour being more visually attractive really intrigued me. Overall I’ve been quite pleased with the finished projects that have an elegant simplicity I hadn’t expected. Today’s project features the Give It A Whirl Dies and Splatters 3D Embossing Folder using just Very Vanilla, ... VIEW POST
Textured Stripes
When I sat down to make today’s masculine birthday card I really had no idea what I was going to do. So I began with my box of A2 card bases that I cut, score and fold in advance to save time. Since having a week where almost all my projects were blue I’ve been consciously avoiding that colour. So instead I selected three random shades of brown; Early Espresso, Pecan Pie and Cajun Craze. What a great combination! The decision to add the embossed stripes came about much later. SHADES OF ... VIEW POST
Irresistible Vellum
I love using vellum. At it’s most basic, vellum diffuses any colour or pattern behind it. However one of my favourite techniques is to run it through my Cut & Emboss Machine inside an embossing folder. This not only adds texture, but also stresses the vellum so the design appears white. By running it backwards and then forwards through the machine you can even create a shadow effect. That’s how I created the layer behind the Hello, Irresistible 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) used on ... VIEW POST
Daisies And More
At last the Stampin’ Up! 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue is live and products are available for customers to buy. Over the past week I’ve brought you sneak peeks of just a few of the items I was able to buy in advance. Now, like you I’m able to choose from the entire catalogue. But with a limited budget it’s hard to know what to prioritise first. In the end I settled on some additional cardstock in some of my favourite new colours along with some ink pads and Stampin’ Blends. Then I added in a few ... VIEW POST
Cheerful Daisies Dies
Just like that April is over and today is the final day of the Last Chance promotion. Then, from midnight tonight (Mountain Time) customers will finally be able to buy new products from the 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue. As an Independent Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator I was allowed to order a few things early, but I’m excited to be able to choose from the complete catalogue. So today is my final sneak peek project, and I wanted to showcase the new Cheerful Daisies Dies along with some of the new core ... VIEW POST
Penned and Pressed
Today’s project marks a huge milestone for me and one I never imagined I reach. This congratulations card is my card design number 2,500. In fact I’ve probably made quite a few more than that as I didn’t start numbering them right away. I have to say that my skills have most definitely improved over the 8 years or so that I’ve been papercrafting. I’m still not sure I have a ‘style’, but this card, using the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and coordinating Penned Flowers Dies, is definitely a ... VIEW POST
