As the days go by more and more items on the Retiring List are selling out. Sometimes customers like to wait and see if products are going to be reduced and that can happen. However I usually tell my customers to weigh up how badly they want a particular product and whether it's worth missing out completely just because they hoped to save a few dollars? Something that rarely gets reduced is retiring stamp sets, as Stampin' Up! make these and adjusts production to closely meet demand. This is ... VIEW POST
Strong & Beautiful Grandbabies
So yesterday for the first time in a number of years I didn't publish my daily blog post. But I have a good excuse. Last week our daughter had twin girls by emergency c-section. Alexis was the first to arrive at 4lb 11oz, with little sister Florence following 10 seconds later at 4lb 1oz. Despite being born at just 34-1/2 weeks both the girls were strong enough to avoid needing special care. Instead they spent a week with Mummy on the transitional ward before finally being able to go home. ... VIEW POST
Simple Three Layer Card Idea
Well yesterday was a complete write off as I wasn't feeling great and spent the whole day curled up on the sofa with a book. Today I'm better, although still not 100% so I'm planning to take it easy again. I still have a project for you though. It's a simple three layer card that needs no special tools or techniques. STRONG & BEAUTIFUL I began with the very top layer of my project. I chose a sentiment from the Strong & Beautiful Stamp Set and using Early Espresso ink, stamped ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Poppies Sneak Peek
I decided that for the end of the decade I'd make my final blog post a peaceful one. Peaceful Poppies to be precise. There is something about the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper (DSP) that just makes me smile. It could be the bright colours, including purple, or it could be that I always associate poppies with my late son. Whatever it is I know this is one paper pack that I'll need to order again. BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some ... VIEW POST
Unstoppable and Proud
Today is International Women's Day and I decided I wanted to create a project to celebrate a woman that I admire immensely, my daughter. Like many people she juggles a family, home and work commitments. Despite all the stresses that life has thrown at her, including the death of her brother in 2017, she continues to inspire me with her humour and resilience. I couldn't be more proud of her. SIMPLE LAYERS I began my project by cutting and scoring some Thick Whisper White Card using my ... VIEW POST
Strong & Beautiful (and unstoppable)
One of the problems with greetings cards is, what happens to them after the occasion has ended? I mean, you can only keep a birthday card on display for so long, no matter how nice it is. That's why sometimes what starts out as a card ends up being something else entirely. Like this decorated notepad with an altered sentiment from the Strong & Beautiful Stamp Set. SIMPLE START I began this project very simply with a 5" x 8" notepad and a piece from the Nature's Poem 12" x 12" ... VIEW POST
