I admit it, I have a serious infatuation with my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. Over the past 9 months I've gradually acquired them all and now have a wonderful array of colours to choose from. While Stampin' Blends are designed to blend beautifully, I love them for another reason as well. Unlike Stampin' Write Markers, the alcohol in Stampin' Blends means that you can colour large areas without tell-tale lines. There's also a translucent quality to the colouring which is simply ... Another Golden Afternoon
The Golden Afternoon Stamp Set is one of those sets that I think can be easily overlooked. There's no clever layering or coordinating products, just a couple of tree images, some flying birds and a selection of sentiments. But it's the kind of set that I think can be really valuable in a papercrafter's collection. The trees are delicately drawn and can work on a background as well as a focal point. Of course the birds would be the ideal addition to any number of 'scenes'. Finally the ... VIEW POST
Happy Valentine’s Day
We're already halfway through February and today is Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day in North America is celebrated very differently to the UK where I grew up. Over there a Valentine's card is sent to your significant other or, anonymously to someone you'd like to be your significant other. Here Valentine's cards and gifts are given more widely, even by young children to all their classmates. I've no doubt you'll see lots of red and/or hearts today so I thought I'd do something a little ... VIEW POST
Shades of Green (with a pop of red)
I'm not sure what's going on, but today is apparently my day for internet issues. So I'd better make this post a quick one. Basically I was experimenting with different colour combinations and ended up using three shades of green for a thank you card. SHADES OF GREEN The three shades of green I put together were Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron and Call Me Clover. Soft Sea Foam was used for the card base that I embossed using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing ... VIEW POST
Wonderful New Stamp Set
I'm slowly working my way through my new stamp sets and having so much fun. When I first saw the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set I knew it was destined to be mine. The simple line art images are just begging to be coloured and I will certainly do that. In fact I've already seen lots of beautifully coloured samples on Pinterest. For my first project I thought I'd avoid the colours and keep it quite simple. So I chose two colours of card and one colour of ink. The result was a quiet, thinking ... VIEW POST
Humming Along Sneak Peek
Today's 2019 Occasions Catalogue sneak peek project features the Humming Along Stamp Set. There's no music involved, just large line-art images and three pretty sentiments. For my first project using this set I decided to use the hibiscus flower to make a birthday gift tag. TAG BASE I began with a 2" x 4-1/4" strip of Whisper White Card for my tag base. I shaped the top quickly and easily using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. To give the tag base some interest I decided to emboss ... VIEW POST
