It’s going to be another one of those hot and humid days. With a heat warning in place I’ve just closed up all the windows and drawn the curtains. That should keep the house relatively cool as the temperature begins to climb. Later, once it starts to cool again and the onshore breeze picks up, I’ll open up the house again. In the meantime I shall be mostly crafting. Today’s project was inspired by the pretty butterflies I saw while mowing a path through our flower meadow at the ... VIEW POST
Strawberry Patch Bundle Discovery
It used to be that when Stampin' Up! changed from one catalogue to the next all the bundles retired. That meant that even if the individual items remained available, you could no longer buy them together at a discount. A couple of years ago that changed and Stampin' Up! began carrying over a few of the most popular bundles. I always try to keep on top of these but inevitably some slip by me. That's what happened with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. I made today's strawberry patch gift tag, but ... VIEW POST
Summer Skies With Beauty Of The Earth
While I don't mind creating my own sky effect I certainly don't mind cheating now and again. The background for today's bookmark project is one example of that. You might be surprised to find that among all the trees and leaves in the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack is this amazing pattern. It's a watercolour wash effect that makes adding a summer sky an absolute breeze. BEAUTY OF THE EARTH This project really did begin with the sky background from the Beauty of ... VIEW POST
Looking Forward To Father’s Day
Now that Mother's Day has passed it's time to think about Father's Day. Sadly it seems that too will be celebrated at a distance this year. So today's mini photo album project, while quick and easy, could help bridge the gap. A CUT ABOVE This Father's Day project actually started without an end project in mind. It was one of those afternoons where I just wanted to spend some quiet time colouring. Instead of flowers I decided to pull out the A Cut Above Stamp Set. From the fun ... VIEW POST
Summer Days Are Numbered
In a little over three weeks we'll know for sure what Stampin' Up! products are retiring. For some things though there's no doubt. I've already mentioned all the 2019-2021 In Color products will go as they make way for new 2021-2023 In Colors. Also guaranteed to retire are Host stamp sets in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalogue. Host stamp sets never carry over, so your time to earn Stampin' Rewards to get them is running out. Today's unusual bookmark project features one of these exclusive stamp ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing – Summer Nights
It's time for another A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, albeit a bit later than usual. The July 2020 kit was called Summer Nights and was full of wonderful backgrounds. I loved the projects in the kit but had lots of other ideas for alternate projects. Here's just two of them. SIMPLE SUMMER NIGHTS CARD First up I created this simple summer scene using one of the postcard bases in the Summer Nights kit. I began by stamping the adult and child image from the A Good Man Stamp Set onto the ... VIEW POST
