It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for another IDEAS blog hop. This month our theme is “That’s so suite of you”. The entire team have designed projects using not just coordinating stamps and dies (or punch), but other coordinating items too. Many of the team picked their favourite product suite from the January to April Mini Catalogue. Me? Well you know I like to be different, so my projects focus on the Sun Prints Suite from pages 90 and 91 of the Annual ... VIEW POST
Autumn Sadness
When I began cardmaking almost ten years ago I only had a few supplies. So in a desperate desire to make my meagre stash go as far as possible I began to experiment. While my stash has grown significantly I still love to make cards using white (or vanilla) and just one other colour. My first attempts were truly awful but thankfully I’ve refined the process using texture and layers. That was my plan while making this card featuring the retiring Fond of Autumn Stamp Set and coordinating ... VIEW POST
Stepping Stones Again
When I get a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue I always go through it several times, even before placing my first order. Over the years I’ve discovered that there are products I’m immediately drawn to. Then there’s others that creep up on me. There are even some that I overlook numerous times until it’s pointed out by someone else. The Stepping Stones Stamp set was one that had to grow on me, but I’m so glad I’ve got it now. Eventually I’ll even use it on some scrapbook pages I’ve planned. BIG ... VIEW POST
Penguin Weather
This time last week I was preparing for my first craft show of the season. I love talking to everyone who visits my table and get feedback on my designs. It’s funny how many people are drawn to projects that include images of animals and thankfully I had lots to show them. I do need to stock up though, so during my personal “24 cards in 24 hours” challenge animals did feature on many of the cards. Number 6 of the 24 was this one with a custom-coloured embossed penguin. EMBOSSED ... VIEW POST
Sun Prints Script
When I think of the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper (DSP) I automatically think of blue. Then I remember that I can get many of the same patterns in four other colours in the Pretty Prints DSP pack. But what I have to remind myself is that there’s also a more delicate option. All I have to do is flip over the blue sheets for some softer Gray Granite patterns. So that’s what did to use up a small scrap of paper on this modern looking “for you” gift tag. SUN PRINTS START As it was the ... VIEW POST
Sun Prints In Grey
It’s warm, the sun is shining and my to do list is full of fun stuff. It’s going to be a great day. One of my ‘tasks’ is to go through some prints that my daughter took and sent to me recently. All are of her family, but it was a black and white photo that immediately caught my eye. I’d seen this picture of my twin granddaughters when she first took it last year. Today my plan was to use it on a scrapbook page for my family album. SUN PRINTS BACKGROUND My initial idea was to use a ... VIEW POST
