Today is going to be fun as I’ve just got my hands on a physical copy of the Stampin’ Up! 2022/2023 Annual Catalogue. First I have a few tasks to do as my pre-order of new products is due to arrive tomorrow. So now I need to make room by putting away anything that’s retiring. That includes the Cherry Blossom Dies and Paper Lattice used on today’s project. While playing with this pretty set I found myself wishing I’d paid more attention to the embossing dies. Better late than never... I ... VIEW POST
Tailor Made Ahead Of Time
How early is too early to make a start on this year’s Christmas crafting? Yesterday’s blog post featured a pretty but simple Christmas card using the retiring Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set and coordinating So Many Snowflakes Dies. Today I wanted to remind you about the Tidings of Christmas 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) that’s also being retired. This DSP has lots of patterns that can be used for other occasions too. In fact I included two of these on this tag created with the Tailor Made Tags ... VIEW POST
Seas The Day (Hopefully)
It seems that this COVID infection for me is currently manifesting as a bad head cold and sore throat. Hopefully it will stay that way and not develop into more severe symptoms. I’ve noticed however that it’s worse in the mornings. Tylenol is helping, although not with the foggy brain. Today is looking better with my new project and blog post done much earlier than yesterday. I even included a little ‘altered die-cut technique’. I love the “seas the day” pun and ... VIEW POST
Quiet Meadow Vintage Style
Although I try not to copy anyone else's projects, as a papercrafter I’m endlessly fascinated by other artists’ design processes. Something I love but struggle with are collage style projects. These are most often found on scrapbook pages but I’ve seen some great examples on cards too. The other style I’m still working on is ‘vintage’. That’s a real challenge for me, but with practice I feel I’m definitely improving. Today’s experiment involved limiting myself to ... VIEW POST
Bold Flowers From Sentimental Swirls
Have you put away all your packs of Christmas patterned paper? I was doing just that when it occurred to me that not every design in the packs was strictly Christmas-themed. That's how I ended up making this project using the bold flowers and sentiment from the new Sentimental Swirls Stamp Set. Then I realised that the Tailor Made Tags Dies were not orderable. So I decided to hold off showing you the tag until they were back in stock, just in case you want to get the dies too. TIDINGS ... VIEW POST
Tidings Of Christmas Coordination
When you think of Christmas what comes to mind? My earliest memory is putting a stocking at the end of my bed. Back then though we didn't have fancy stockings, they were my Dad's old grey army socks but we didn't mind. Somehow the satsuma, coin, chocolate and small gift all fit so we had something to keep us occupied before breakfast. The stockings in the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set are a bit fancier, but still rekindle those old memories. TAILOR MADE TAG For this project I ... VIEW POST
