When you have lots of tools and materials in your craft room it can be tempting to think you have to use it all. However sometimes I like to pare it all back and make a much simpler looking project. That was my thinking today as I sat down to play with the By My Side Stamp Set. The characters are perfect for colouring, but even then I kept it simple by using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers without bothering to blend. I was done in less than 10 minutes. QUICK AND EASY I began by cutting ... VIEW POST
Moment Of Inspiration
Although I love the excitement of getting a new stamp set I still enjoy revisiting older ones. Today was one of those days as I was thinking about a new bookmark. With the nights already starting to draw in I’m going into hibernation mode, and reading forms a big part of that. So that’s what made me think of the In The Moment Stamp Set and one particular image. From there I began to look for a different sentiment and I decided that “Peace Joy Love” summed it up perfectly. ALTERED DIE-CUT ... VIEW POST
Fern Changing Colours
As I sat down to create today’s project I had just a very vague idea of what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to experiment a little more with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. In previous experiments I’d simply embossed coloured card, which turned out remarkably well. After that I'd inked up some card before embossing the fern design into it, and adding other ink colours afterwards. Today I wanted to see what would happen if I started by embossing Basic White Card before inking ... VIEW POST
Gnomes The Easy Way
Several months ago I created a custom background using the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks. In fact it was only after making a bookmark it that I thought it might be useful to film the process. Of course having done that I then had another custom background, and it’s been sitting on my desk ever since. Well I’ve finally got around to using part of that piece to create today’s project. That was after I realised that one of the gnomes in the Storybook Gnomes paper and the background coordinated ... VIEW POST
Autumn Bouquet Dies Part 3
I know I’ve said it before, but I love the Fond Of Autumn Stamp Set. First there’s a gorgeous large image that is perfect for a card front. Then there’s three smaller images that are great for decorating envelopes and the inside of cards. In addition there’s also a banner image and six sentiments. But what I love the most are the unusual features of the coordinating Autumn Bouquet Dies. I showcased these dies in two previous blog posts, and today’s project is the last in this three part ... Summer Meadow
It’s going to be another one of those hot and humid days. With a heat warning in place I’ve just closed up all the windows and drawn the curtains. That should keep the house relatively cool as the temperature begins to climb. Later, once it starts to cool again and the onshore breeze picks up, I’ll open up the house again. In the meantime I shall be mostly crafting. Today’s project was inspired by the pretty butterflies I saw while mowing a path through our flower meadow at the ... VIEW POST
