Today is going to be one of those days to stay in and craft. Not that I mind that, in fact I love it. But the forecast calls for thunderstorms and we've already had one go through this morning. So while I'll be able to craft I can't necessarily count on having power. That means heat embossing might or might not get done. Still I've lots of other goodies to play with so I suppose I'll just have to manage. lol COUNT ON ME If we do lose power it will mean no computer or internet so ... VIEW POST
Drybrush And Blending Brushes Combined Today
Did you have a good weekend? I didn't get as much done as I'd liked, but I did solve a major problem on my computer so I'm calling that a win. Between decluttering my studio and computer I also found time for a little crafting. My plan was to try out a new (to me) background stamp called Drybrush. Me being me however, I had something a little different in mind for my first project. DRYBRUSH OVER INK Before I could get to the Drybrush Stamp Set I first needed to prepare the base. So ... Peekaboo Llama For Any Occasion
OK I admit it. I may be slightly obsessed with the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set. But can you blame me when those animals are so cute? Today I wanted to use the llama image and see how it would work with a paper piecing technique. Suffice to say, it works well and adds a whole new dimension to the wall. PEEKABOO FARM AGAIN Why the llama? Well simply because it's one of the animal images in the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set that I haven't yet used. Seemed a good enough reason at the time. ... VIEW POST
Three Ways To Add Colour To A Turtle Scene
If you're fed up with flowers you'll be pleased to hear I finally managed to drag myself away from the Hand-Penned Suite. For a little while at least. Today I wanted to revisit the Turtle Friends Stamp Set to create a layered gift tag. Although it wasn't planned, I ended up using three different techniques to add colour to Basic White Card. After working with Blending Brushes, Stampin' Blends alcohol markers and the two-step stamping technique, the result is a pretty scene with one very ... VIEW POST
Bright Earth Tones For A Birthday Tag
It's the weekend, the sun is shining and I have lots I need to get done. I could pop out and mow the lawn but to be honest I don't fancy trying to avoid the blackfly. No, it's definitely much nicer inside where I can explore mother nature's bounty without getting bitten to pieces. My plan this morning was to create a gender-neutral gift tag featuring bright earth tones, and that's what I did. I'll admit that fussy-cutting the branches from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper (DSP) ... VIEW POST
Daisy Days Are On Their Way
At long last colour is returning to the gardens and hedgerows. I love watching new plants emerge and flower, and then give way to others as the season progresses. For us spring is predominantly a time for dandelions with the 'lawn' in front of the house a sea of yellow. I must admit that since moving to rural Nova Scotia my opinion of dandelions has changed dramatically. No longer are they weeds that must be eradicated using any and all means at my disposal. But rather they are the first ... VIEW POST
