It’s no secret that I’m happy to mix and match images and sentiments from different stamp sets. In fact I sometimes buy a set precisely because I see a different use for some of the stamps. This was definitely the case with the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set in the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue. With four different tree images included, it’s a very useful set. I’m delighted Peaceful Deer has been carried over to the new Annual Catalogue, and inked it up again for today’s simple Sunday card ... VIEW POST
Simply Elegant Sympathy Card
After yesterday’s Valentine’s Day project I decided to tone it down today. As I was going through my stock of cards I realised I have very few sympathy and get well cards. After birthday cards these seem to be the ones that I sell the most. So with that in mind I decided to create a simple sympathy card. For that I wanted a suitable patterned paper with muted colours in a design that wasn’t too busy. I found it in the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper ... VIEW POST
Christmas Paper Scraps Are Not Wasted
With Christmas only days away I'm acutely aware of all the things I still have to do. Today's simple Sunday project actually began as an attempt to use up the various scraps of paper I have laying around. I found a few bits from the Painted Christmas 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack that had images that could be individually cut out. So one evening last week while watching a Christmas movie I did just that using my Paper Snips. By the time I was done I had a nice little pile of ... VIEW POST
Handsomely Suited To A Feminine Card
Today is going to be one of those days where I'm rushing around trying to get things done before a winter storm hits. We have possibly 12" (30cm) of snow due in the next 18 hours or so, coupled with high winds. So we need to prepare in case the power goes out. Luckily my projects for the next couple of days are all made and I just have to write my blog posts. First though here's a birthday card created using the new Handsomely Suited Stamp Set. It's part of a masculine suite of products but ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing – Something For Everything
The December A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop was delayed because of Christmas and New Year but I hope you'll feel it was worth waiting for. Today is all about the Something for Everything kit. Of course I couldn't resist including some new catalogue sneak peeks as well. First up though is this shallow box made very simply using just one of the card bases and a gold sticker from the kit . I cut the card in half along the pre-scored line and then cut a tiny sliver off the top edge and ... VIEW POST
Bottle? Decorate Instead Of Wrap
Has it ever occurred to you that not everything you gift has to be wrapped? In fact I think sometimes it's nicer to think in terms of decorating a gift rather than wrapping. Bottles are a case in point. Traditionally bottles are placed in a 'bottle bag', or wrapped in a not very effective disguise. Then when they're gifted the wrapping is removed and the plain bottle appears on the table. But if you wrap the label instead, the bottle stays decorated. How much nicer is that! Especially since ...
