Our granddaughter has been visiting with us from the UK for the past three weeks and the time has simply flown by. We’ve been so busy visiting places that there’s been hardly any time to craft. So our plan for today is to spend some quality time exploring my latest box of goodies from Stampin’ Up! But first we need to write some thank you cards. This one was made using the Charming Sentiments and Petal Park Stamp Sets. Of the 17 Charming Sentiments, “beyond grateful” seemed particularly ... VIEW POST
Frosted Dots Magic
Although I’m still enjoying summer with my 12 year-old granddaughter I can’t help but think of Christmas. As a papercrafter it’s a bit of an occupational hazard. However my recently delivered pre-order from the Stampin’ Up! September to December 2023 Mini Catalogue remains unopened. In fact today’s simple Sunday project was made before Alyssa arrived. I’d made a card using the Courage & Faith Stamp Set and had a little extra time to play. But when I added Loose Frosted Dots to the berries on ... VIEW POST
Another Christmas In July
Christmas in July seems to really have taken off and not only in crafting circles. I see lots of references to the concept on TV and in stores. A couple of days ago Stampin’ Up! gave us a preview of the September to December 2023 Mini Catalogue. It’s chock full of amazing Christmas and other seasonal products that will be available for customers to order starting September 6th. Meanwhile there’s some great Christmas products in the Annual Catalogue too, like the Christmas Pinecone Dies I used to ... VIEW POST
Stylish Shapes Part 2

Using the Stylish Shapes Dies I cut a circle from my main card layer so the card base was able to show through. Then I fixed the die-cut sentiment inside the hole and the card base became a faux mat layer. Of course that left me with the circle I’d die-cut from the layered Designer Series Paper (DSP). Turning it into a birthday gift tag seemed the perfect way to use up that piece. LOTS OF SHAPES My ... VIEW POST
Frosted Dots
The new Hello, Irresistible 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) available from March 1st is simply... irresistible. Yesterday I used the paper as the main layer on my masculine / gender-neutral card. Today however I wanted a lighter and fresher feel to my project so I could show off some of the new Loose Frosted Dots. But the Hello, Irresistible DSP has that too so I thought, why not? Using the colours listed on the back of the DSP pack I grabbed some coordinating card and set to ... VIEW POST
Full Of Love
Where do you get your colour inspiration? I often make a note of colour combinations I see on clothes and household linens while I’m shopping. I also love to wander around the garden and take my cue from nature. In the summer there’s lots of pinks, reds and oranges. Autumn also has these colours, but the tones are quite different. Winter brings neutral colours like greys and browns. But right now I see blues and purples, and that’s what I was thinking of when I created today’s pretty card ... VIEW POST
