Today's project was the result of another one of my "using up scraps" afternoons. It actually started with the pretty background piece that was left over after I decorated a small treat box. From there I didn't really have a plan other than to find some coordinating colours and pretty shapes. Once I'd decided to use the Penned Flowers Dies for the main accent it all came together very quickly. BACKGROUND LAYERS Taking my cue from the 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" scrap from the Blackberry Beauty ... Elegantly Said And Tasteful Labels Reunite
A week or so ago I showed you how I used an image from the Elegantly Said Stamp Set to create a larger 'background' design. On that occasion I used part of the background on a card project, and I promised two more projects would follow. So here's the first of those, using another piece to create a quick gift tag. ELEGANTLY SAID BACKGROUND My background began as an experiment using the large image from the Elegantly Said Stamp Set. I'd realised I could simply stamp the four 'triangles' ... VIEW POST
Elegantly Said Does It Once Again
When I bought the Elegantly Said Stamp Set it was definitely because of the sentiments. Not only did I like the words but the combination of scripts really stood out. I was also drawn to the large triangular-shaped decorative image and have had great fun trying out new ideas. Today's project is the first in a set of three, a 'clean and simple' card. ELEGANTLY CREATED My project began as I was experimenting with that large image from the Elegantly Said Stamp Set. I wanted to find ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Start To My Sneak Peeks
One week from today the new Mini Catalogue will go live, along with the second Sale-A-Bration promotion of 2021. So it's about time I gave you some sneak peeks of what you'll be able to buy starting August 3rd. I thought I'd start simply with some gorgeous paper from the Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. SNOWY CABIN SCENE There's so many great designs in the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP pack it was hard to know where to start. In the end I chose the sheet with ... VIEW POST
Decorative Masks For A Stencilled Background
Once again my determination to reorganise my craft studio has revealed an unused tool. Yesterday it was the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks that I found caught up in a stack of paperwork. These masks aren't new but they are in the current Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. They definitely hadn't seen ink so when I finally stopped to play they were the first things I reached for. I loved how easy they were to use and couldn't wait to turn the first one into a quick thank you card. INK PAD AND ... VIEW POST
Lighthearted Lines With Thanks
Have you ever done something completely daft? You know the kind of thing that you hoped no one saw at the time. Then somehow you can't resist telling a special friend or family member about it. Usually the retelling is accompanied by "don't laugh but..." Of course laughter often eventually follows. This was what came to mind with this thank you card using the Lighthearted Lines Stamp Set. "Thanks for lending and ear ... and keeping a straight face." MYSTERY STAMPING This card ... VIEW POST
