When I'm creating projects for the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Design Team, I'm always looking to do something a little different. Today's birthday card for #WWYS214 Piece of Cake, is a definitely a bit of a departure for me, but I'm very happy with how it turned out. I started by cutting and scoring a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card on my Stampin' Trimmer. I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to crease my card base. Then on the front I ... VIEW POST
Love Is Drinking The Tea
When I was a little girl visiting our grandparents was a real treat. We didn't always have a car so it didn't happen as much as any of us would have liked. When we did go I remember being reminded about manners and acceptable behaviour. Not that we needed reminding, the way our grandparents behaved and spoke was reminder enough. When Grandma would offer us a plate of biscuits we only took one, and had to be persuaded to take a second. Mum always mentioned that Grandma was never asked "how ... VIEW POST
Kindness Changes Everything
I'm halfway through the weekend but not halfway through my to do list. I think as I get older time must speed up at the same rate as I'm slowing down. At least I'm still having fun and enjoying the new friendships I'm making through my papercrafting. I've had a lot of feedback following my granddaughter Alyssa's card project and we are all very touched by your kindness. She's definitely a papercrafting star in the making. Just recently I got the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set and one ... VIEW POST
Tea Room Specialty DSP
Over the years I've learned to appreciate patterned papers. I've tried various brands but I've not found any quite like Stampin' Up! Their normal Designer Series Paper (often referred to as DSP) is fairly thick with designs on both sides. Sometimes though they'll create 'Specialty DSP' like Joyous Noel with foil accents in some of the designs. The Tea Room Specialty DSP is different again as it's much thinner than their normal DSP, more like copy paper. While it's not suitable for making ... VIEW POST
Garden Trellis and Accented Blooms
Today's card project uses the Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder® and Accented Blooms Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! I must admit though that it wasn't the products that kick started my project, it was two design challenges. Freshly Made Sketches FMS350 provided the layout, and Just Add Ink JAI422 the inspiration for the techniques used. Overall the project came together fairly quickly. Unfortunately the same can't be said of the uploading and editing of my project photos, ... VIEW POST
Blue roses and thank you
When I was growing up I remember my late Mum being delighted when she found blue roses for her garden with a bush called 'Blue Moon'. They weren't really blue, but it got me thinking about the range of colours found in particular flowers. In my papercrafting I do like to ring the changes and blue flowers seem to be a favourite right now. For today's simple Sunday project I thought I'd try another challenge. This time the Freshly Made Sketches challenge FMS349 which had the perfect simple ... VIEW POST
