Today, November 14th, is Diabetes Awareness Day, and 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin by Canadian researchers. My long-time followers will know that we lost our son to complications arising from Type 1 diabetes and diabetes research is a cause that's close to my heart. So for today's simple Sunday project I created this card with "my thoughts are with you" sentiment. BEAUTY OF THE EARTH Pale blue is the colour for Diabetes (although rather than a ribbon, they ... A Paper Pumpkin Thing – Bouquet Of Hope
Another month is almost over and it's time for our February A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month we've been playing with the Bouquet Of Hope kit. Designed with "thinking of you" and sympathy sentiments, I wanted my alternate projects to be a little different. NO BOUQUET My first alternate project is a card that uses the printed and die-cut flowers, but not the bouquet. I began with the Rococo Rose card base from the kit and the sheet of flowers. Across the centre of my card ... VIEW POST
Happy Thoughts For Sentiments
While I sometimes think I have enough floral stamp sets, I don't think that I've ever thought I'd got all the sentiments I want or need. So I'm especially drawn to sentiment only stamp sets, even more so when they can also be used inside cards. So it was with the new Happy Thoughts Stamp Set. What's more the font used is clean and timeless so it's definitely worth looking at. ... VIEW POST
Saying Goodbye To Beautiful Autumn
As expected, yesterday's dusting of snow quickly melted and we're back to that odd 'between season' kind of weather. The autumn leaves are all gone, but still there's a little warmth that makes being outside quite pleasant at times. Sadly it won't be long before the colder weather returns and settles in. So today with that in mind I'm saying goodbye to the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set by decorating a 3" x 3" Post-It Note® pad. GILDED AUTUMN I began my project by choosing this gorgeous ... VIEW POST
Thanks For Lots Of Reasons
Thanks or thank you cards are so useful. Whether it's in response to a single event, or a combination of things, sending a card through the mail can really show your appreciation. I like to keep a variety of thank you cards on hand and some are more elaborate than others. So when I'm thinking about cards to make for my stash, "thanks" always appears on my list. Today's simple Sunday card is one I made for my World Cardmaking Day Challenge back at the beginning of October. With a bold ... VIEW POST
Counting Moments and Making Moments Count
Although I planned to have this blog post done before I started my personal World Cardmaking Day challenge it didn't happen. So after spending the past 10 hours or so designing and making the first 12 cards I'm taking a little break. It's just after midnight and a good time to spend a few moments putting the finishing touches to my blog. SIMPLE BOX WRAP For this week's simple Sunday project I decided to do an easy box wrap. I began by making up a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box. This is ... VIEW POST
